Hey! I didn't want to wait until my January sketchbook goes up to say this. Oscar and I have done some redesigning/rewriting in the Map of the Heart script that's pertinent to designs I've posted in the past.
Vitya's home country was originally partly inspired by the Bamileke people indigenous to Cameroon, and while we had always planned on hiring sensitivity readers, we came to the conclusion a couple weeks ago that there was no way we could portray this culture in a way that was responsible, with assistance or not. I'd like to apologize that we didn't reach this decision sooner.
I did some research in another direction, and decided to take inspiration from late 19th century Greece. Y'all haven't seen the script so it doesn't change much for you, but I know I've posted some clothing designs for Vitya + his family before, so I think it's responsible to tell you the changes we've made.
That said, January's sketchbook is gonna be a LOT of clothing designs lol. Thank you for your patience.
EDIT: I've since taken a lot of old Map of the Heart sketchbooks down, since so much of the stuff in them is related to an old draft of the story that no longer reflects how the world is built, or even the overall tone of the story itself! I Thanks for understanding.
