I tried painting candy but it didn't go very well. Sketching candy (and some random Halloween-y things) went pretty well though so I'll give it another try.
I watched a watercolor class and thought "that's what I did wrong, I got too detailed. I should go back to working on more simple shapes."
It was solid advice from myself so of course I didn't take it.
Instead I did this
It's not really Instagram worthy but it's not bad. I really like the lilac color I managed to mix. And I liked having to make myself just *suggest* the ruffles and fiddley bits.
Skin color is really hard to mix in any medium so I think I did an ok job there. It's also not super noticeably out of proportion, which is something I struggle with.
Adding faces didn't work super well
But I did the best I could with them.
Not perfect but I think it shows a lot of progress.
Maybe I'll get back to simple shapes soon.
