I've been working on location and materials and getting the Complexly staff to join in but pieces aren't coming together. Not to mention, just yesterday Missoula got a bunch of snow so it's very much not bathing suit weather. We're going to have to change directions.
Last night I was watching West Wing, which I'm totally into, and I saw their Special Edition episode with interviews of people who worked in the actual west wing of the White House. I thought, "Wouldn't something similar be fun to do for the anniversary episode of Sexplanations since we can't get the slip n' slide going?"
Matthew (the videographer) and I talked about the feasibility of this and decided it is totally doable with your help. We'll compile footage from our episodes and interviews with all of you sharing your memories and experiences related to Sexplanations.
If you'd like to participate, here are the guidelines:
1. Video record yourself or someone else talking about Sexplanations. Make sure the shot orientation is horizontal, the audio is clear, and the visual component is in focus.
2. Send the file to my assistant at [email protected] as soon as possible. We're hoping to get all the submissions by Monday evening (May 22nd) so I have time to make a story out of them.
3. If you reference a specific moment in Sexplanations or a specific episode, please share the title and time code with us so we can include a clip of it wherever applicable.
4. We're going to do our best to include everyone's submissions. If we don't include your's, it's not because we don't like you.
Here are some sample prompts that might help you with what to say:
What's one of your fondest Sexplanations' memories?
What did you think when you first saw Sexplanations?
How has Sexplanations effected you?
What's one of your favorite Sexplanations' moments?
How do you feel when you see a new video is uploaded or when you watch a new video?
What do you think Sexplanations' does well?
What do you look forward to in the future of Sexplanations?
You could just say some form of "Happy anniversary."
Responses can be any length, we'll cut as needed. If you can give a 3-10 second version as part of your submission though, that's helpful too.
