As you know I've been working in 0.20 graphics for a long time, so it's going to be quite packed. Many spoilers have been show here and there along the months while I was working on other parts of the game or while I had my slow working time at the start of the year due to my problem visions. This month has been an unending rendering shift getting all the Mainstory ready.
Lots of scenes in various parts of Luvia and lots of stuff going on! Devlog took a bit of time to make cause it was a bit hard to organize myself and check everything that was going on everywhere.... So here it is!
The state of the release is something like this: 80-90% of what I'm sure it is going to be there is done and ready to start coding.
Kaelkirk Main Story:
300+ renders and 30+ animations.
This will be a long chain of events with divergent paths but repeteable inside the same game, so everyone will enjoy all the content.
Companions Camp Hub:
It will be a bit barebones right now but it will be a start.
Penketh Freeroam:
-Church (Plus Special events), 50 renders.
-Market Freeroam + Special events: 80+ renders and 8+ animations
Then I have the other part, the Extra Stuff. I have many of the "extra stuff" scenes done or half done, and some are missing yet. As I start coding I'll see what made it into this release, and the rest will come in the next.
Gypsy Camp devloplemt Story:
-More than 20 animations and 100+ renders.
Robin & Dexter Development Story:
-This is an important part of the extra content, Storywise and in lenght. It will probably continue on next updates but I'll put the start of it in this update for sure. Just not knowing exactly how much further we'll step on it. But in this update will feature at least 3-4 scenes of a total of 100 renders, 40-50% of it ready.
So, June coding work is coming!
In June coding starts. I'll start adding the new freeroam locations to Penketh, while I make sure I go over old bugs and little problems that may have developed along the rest of development of the game (as Penketh was a chapter 1 location barely touched on 2020)
As I try to finish this week all Mainstory renders, and start coding, I'll see how much deep I go into Extra Penketh development: I want to make a big update but as said I don't want to take that long to take it out there.
Anyway, there is a lot of varied coding to do the first weeks of June (Beyond putting new content), like making the first test of the Romance Menu and changing some game logic to include correctly the Companion's Camp Hub. That will allow me to keep rendering on those parts that are not ready yet and I guess in mid June I'll be more able to confirm the total contents of the 0.20 update.
All I can say is that I'm very happy with Kaelkirk Mainstory and is going to be quite whimsical and interesting ;)
Here... Lots of long frame anims to keep doing while getting little scenes finished here and there ;)
