Janet rolled over, stopped by the feeling of bumping into the bars of her crib. She groaned, a part of her almost missing the confusion that had come the first couple times she'd done so, when, for a moment or two, she thought she still had some shred of her adulthood left. Now, she recognized what she'd run into right away, knew that it meant all of that was gone, at least until Harrison returned... She wouldn't have considered the wait that long, but considering everything that had happened so far while he was away, especially last Wednesday... She really wished she'd just gone on vacation with him in the first place.

Janet frowned, furrowed her brow, turning her head as she saw Mrs. Barlow, the other babified woman, and the nurse - the person who had done this to her, who had done this to her, who had hypnotized her into pacifier-dependent, diaper filling baby girl, wearing only that same, messy diaper and a t-shirt - walking in the opposite direction that Lexi was pushing the stroller in. She'd assumed they would be coming, too, and, somehow, that had made it feel a bit less embarrassing, since, perhaps, her neighbors would assume it had been them who had done this to her, that she'd been ganged up on, outnumbered...

But that wasn't really true, was it? If she hadn't tried to skip daycare, none of this would have happened. Why hadn't she just gone?! It was embarrassing, yes; compared to this, however, it was nothing! All she could do now was hope that nobody would believe she was actually Janet, the wife of Harrison. She hadn't made the time to meet the few neighbors they had in their cul-de-sac, nor had she had much interest in trying. They'd surely caught glimpses of her in the past, although she felt like they'd have been more likely to see her since this had all began, after her stepdaughter, and now her maid, had started dressing, and treating, her like a toddler. Even so, formalizing it, letting herself be introduced to them this way, was absolutely mortifying.

She couldn't do anything about it, unfortunately. Lexi had locked the door behind them, and there were no pockets in Janet's minimal outfit for her keys, so all she could have done was waddle away and wait in the yard for Lexi to catch her, and then, probably, spank her again, the very idea of that making her squirm on her throbbing bottom and sniffle. Not to mention that the longer she sat in her stroller and nursed her paci, the more distant the concept of hopping out of it felt, the more difficult it seemed to be in her mind.

That only got worse as they began to make their stops, Lexi wheeling her right up to the front doors, ringing the doorbell, waving politely when it was answered. "Hello, there!" she smiled. "Sorry to bother you, I just wanted to say hello, and introduce you to your neighbor, little Baby Jane! She's so excited to see who she's living next to!"

Janet always tried to shrink back, to vanish into her stroller, seeing the look in each of her neighbor's eyes as they stared down at her, as they saw the thick, bulging diaper between her legs, so clearly in need of a change... And hearing Lexi use that infantilized version of her name while she gestured to her and Harrison's house, making certain they all knew exactly where she lived.

Most of the time, they bent over, smiling condescendingly down at her, said something like, "Nice to meet you, sweetie!", unable to resist reaching in, giving her diaper a pat. She could almost feel her maturity slipping further and further away every time, as if she was being led into the growing fog in her mind, and it was getting lost in there. Somehow, she never got used to it; the humiliation just grew with every repetition. Nobody questioned it, nobody came to her defense, or appeared to think there was anything wrong with this... They simply accepted that she was, indeed, Baby Jane, cooed at her, maybe tickled her under her chin and sent her on her way...

Except for the last one. She was already quite vulnerable by then, quite absorbed into to act of sucking her pacifier, the only bit of comfort she could find in all this. Anyone who answered the door would have looked so big to her, so grown-up, but the woman who did was, in fact, very tall, particularly in comparison to her, and seemed particularly delighted to see Janet in her stroller.

"Hi, sweetie!" she exclaimed, leaning in, and, without even asking Lexi, scooping Janet out, holding her up. "My name is Peggy!" Janet whimpered, kicking her feet helplessly. "Uh-oh, somebody really needs a change, huh? Can I change her?"

It took Janet a moment to process that the question, despite being about her, had been directed at Lexi, that her head shaking was being ignored while Lexi smiled, grabbing a fresh diaper, powder, and wipes from under the stroller, offering them up to Peggy, who laid Janet down, right on the soft grass of the lawn. Janet groaned and squirmed, feeling completely powerless, blushing bright red behind her pacifier as the older woman began to rip open the tapes of her diaper, cooing at her.

"I didn't know babies wore such big diapers," she smirked, winking down at Janet, wiping her clean and powdering her before expertly taping the fresh diaper up around her bottom. It had been quick, efficient, yet no less embarrassing, having it down right there on the ground, where anyone could have seen... Though, of course, by now everyone around knew the truth about her anyway.

After so long in her full diaper, Janet was happy to be in a clean one, but the whole experience left her sniffling and crying pitifully while the woman lifted her back into the stroller, patting her on the head, telling her, "It was nice to meet you, Baby Janet."

It hadn't been until she got home and calmed down a bit that she realized she didn't recall Lexi having had a chance to introduce her, and that, even if she had, she probably would have called her 'Jane', like she had at all the other houses. She must have, and Janet must just have been too overwhelmed to hear... Even so, she couldn't quite shake the sensation something was wrong...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Is my Baby Jane up?"

Janet blinked upwards, seeing Lexi walking in through the doorway to the nursery, smiling, breaking her free of her shameful memories, bringing her back to her ever-so-slightly less shameful present. She nodded sleepily, feeling the pacifier bobbing in her mouth, hardly even aware, at this point, that she was using it.

Lexi lifted her up, carrying her over to the changing table, starting to administer her morning diaper change, taping Janet into a pair of diapers. "Are you ready for the birthday party, sweetie?"

The birthday party... Janet had completely forgotten about that. She sighed, but nodded. What could she do, or say, to get out of going to Melba's birthday party? Probably nothing, especially when most of her words came out as gibberish now, muffled by her pacifier while Lexi giggled and went to the closet to find something to dress her in. The nurse had claimed the hypnosis was temporary, and that was, hopefully, true; that part of it, however, was not temporary enough for Janet's liking. Even if Janet was able to come up with a plan, she thought resignedly, she would be scared that she'd have a repeat of her last 'victory', of what had happened when she'd gotten out of daycare for a day.

She wouldn't have thought it was still possible, yet she was, indeed, shocked at the babyishness of the outfit Lexi chose for her. It was a blue party dress with a white apron that went over it and a petticoat diaper cover for under it, stretched tightly over the double diapers that made it impossible for her to close her legs, or, most likely, to walk, the outfit finished off by a pair of white anklet socks, Mary Janes, and a white baby bonnet.

She was, in fact, stuck on her hands and knees as Lexi led her to her playpen, leaving her lying on her back with a bottle of breastmilk, resignedly sipping on it while the maid went to get ready herself, returning in a nice dress. "Aww," she giggled, staring down at her employer. "Don't you look precious?"

Janet was sure she was going to be expected to finish her milk before they left, and didn't want to be spanked for causing them to be late, so she just kept drinking as Lexi began to snap pictures of her. Janet was almost finished by the time she noticed that the phone Lexi was using seemed very familiar.

"Wait, that's mine!" she burbled, the words coming out as unintelligible bubbles in her bottle of milk.

"What's wrong, baby?" Lexi chuckled. "Are you anxious to get to the party?"

Janet shook her head and whimpered, pointing up at the phone. "Oh, you want to see?" Lexi squatted down next to her, flipping through the photos one by one, Janet's blush growing deeper and deeper as she saw herself traveling back in time over the last week, seeing all the humiliating outfits Lexi had put her in, all the clearly used diapers around her bottom... "Aren't they great?" Lexi asked. "Do you want me to send some to Harrison? I'm sure he'd love them!"

A wave of fear washed over Janet's face, and her diaper, accompanied by more than a splash of wetness in the latter at the thought of her husband seeing those photos. "Then you'd better be a good baby," Lexi warned, giving Janet's diaper a pat, letting her know that, despite the padding being covered, for now, she knew exactly what was going on in them, that Janet was too much of a baby to successfully hide it.

Janet nodded, guzzling down the last of her milk obediently, letting Lexi pick her up and carry her out to her car, depositing her into her car seat and strapping her in for the ride. Janet did her best to convince herself it wouldn't be that bad, that it would be like daycare, with all the friends Melba had there.

Bernice greeted them at the door with a smile. "There you are!" she beamed at Janet, taking her from Lexi's arms and resting her on her own hip. "I didn't want you running around and getting into trouble, so I made a special place for you... You are the littlest baby here, after all!"

"I don't think you have to worry about her running anywhere," Lexi smirked, Bernice giving Janet's diaper a crinkly rub in response.

"No, I suppose not," she said. "The other kids will be, though, and I'd hate for them to trip over her." She carried Janet into the living room, where there was a playpen in one corner, filled with soft cloth alphabet blocks, baby books printed on cloth, stacking toys... Janet groaned, feeling very much like she was, indeed, back at daycare...

Only far worse. It wasn't just Melba's friends from there after all... There were also quite a few of Bernice's work friends there, people Janet had worked with, too, at one point. She sucked harder on her pacifier as she was taken past them, as she saw the look of recognition on their faces. By the time she was plopped down in the middle of the playpen, she was certain all of them were staring at her, watching expectantly.

But what was she going to do? There was no question, by now, that she was stuck, that she wasn't going to be escaping under her own power. Throwing a fit wouldn't do her any good, either. All she could do, really, was sit there, nursing her paci, and start playing with her simple, babyish toys, trying to concentrate on them and not all the people looking at her, whispering to one another, shocked to see that, since she'd quit her job, she'd wound up like this, in extra thick diapers, acting like a total infant through and through.

It was better, she decided, to blend in, to be the baby she'd came as. In some ways, she didn't have a choice, both because of the residual hypnosis, and, mostly, the looming threat of those pictures on her phone, the knowledge that, with a few taps, Harrison could see all of them... That, or Lexi could decide to demote her to the Dollhouse. Considering how well that one bit of hypnosis had worked on her, there was no doubt that she wouldn't stand a chance there.

Lexi wasn't going to make it easy for her, however. She wasn't content to let Janet sit there quietly, try to blend in... When some of Janet's work friends did get up the courage to ask her what was going on, and Janet stayed silent, not wanting to babble at them, to let them hear what her speaking voice had been reduced to, Lexi stepped in.

"Why so shy?" she taunted. "Oh, I bet I know... She needs a snack. Unfortunately, I forgot to pack a bottle, but I'm sure you all understand..."

She climbed into the playpen herself, pulling Janet onto her lap. It took Janet a moment too long to figure out what was happening, to start to struggle and whimper, spouting gibberish in an attempt to put a stop to this before Lexi could uncover one breast and push her up to it, forcing her to start sucking, to let everyone see her, in her party dress and double diapers, being breastfed. What better way to demonstrate what a baby she truly was?

She was allowed out of the playpen once, when the presents were being opened, Lexi handing her a gift and instructing, "Go take that to your friend, Baby Jane!"

Obediently, Janet crawled across the floor, her now quite soggy diaper bobbing behind her as she crept past her former co-workers, awkwardly carrying the present, offering it up to Melba who giggled and told her, "Thank you, Baby Jane!" and patted her on the head, Janet unable to hide her scowl at how quickly the girl had picked up on her new name.

"She picked it out herself," Lexi called from the other side of the room with an apologetic tone.

Melba ripped open the paper, pausing as she saw what was inside. "Yeah," she said after a moment. "I can tell."

Lexi shrugged. "It's the thought that counts."

Melba nodded, looked down at Janet, sitting at her feet, unsure of what to do now, of what was in the package, of what she'd supposedly chosen. "Here, why don't you take care of this for me for now while I open my other stuff, okay?"

Janet blushed as she was handed a rattle, listening, while she crawled back to the playpen with it, to the adults talking about how well Melba had handled it, how mature she was, how good she was at dealing with the 'younger kids,' scowling at being used as an example of one of those.

She was given her slice of cake in the playpen, along with a bib, and no fork or spoon, obviously making more of a mess of herself than the other kids in attendance, getting more grumpy when that was pointed out, free of the context that they'd all been allowed to use utensils. She was also, unfortunately, the only one to have a messy accident.

She did try to tell Lexi, to get her attention, but her babbling was ignored while the maid spoke to her co-workers, showed them some of the pictures she'd taken, earning lots of awws and giggles. In far less time than Janet would have liked, possibly before Lexi would have been able to get her into the bathroom and take off her diaper cover and diaper even if she'd wanted to, Janet felt her tummy give a push, felt her diaper begin to fill, right as Lexi showed a particularly cute picture, getting everyone to look over at her, smiling, only to see her sitting there, face red, grunting behind her pacifier, in a pose that the vast majority of them were very familiar with from their own children.

"Oh, Baby Jane," Lexi sighed. "It's a good thing I didn't listen to you and brought some spare diapers just in case, huh? I knew you'd need a change before the party was over, stinky girl..."

The threat of Harrison finding out, of being taken to the Dollhouse, kept Janet silent once more, kept her from even attempting to clear the record, tell everyone she hadn't said that... Or from protesting when she saw Lexi beginning to spread out a changing pad on the floor of the playpen, right in front of all of her former co-workers, spreading out the changing supplies around it, letting Janet know that once she finished pooping her pants, she was in for something just as, if not more, humiliating, one last display to ensure that everyone knew exactly how much of a baby she had become.
