"So, uh... It looks like we're it," the little squeaked, staring up at Gwynn, an anxious expression on her face, as if she expected Gwynn to get angry at her for neither of them being quicker to find another partner.

"Looks like," Gwynn told her, giving her what she hoped was a reassuring smile. If she was being totally honest, she'd spent quite a bit of this class staring at her anyway, wondering about her. She was an Amazon, but she'd never really had much interaction with littles before; her parents had been busy with their careers, and raising her, so they hadn't adopted any, and most of her high school friends hadn't had any adopted siblings either. There had been a couple who had gotten some when they were close to graduating, though by that point, Gwynn was busy with her after-school/summer job, and hadn't had time to hang out much, so she'd seen them in passing, at best.

And there definitely weren't many littles on her college campus. What did that mean for this one? Was she particularly smart? Or rich? Was it simply the school's attempt at diversity? Gwynn wasn't sure, but she had to admit that the questions came bubbling up every time she saw this girl on campus. Had that been what had kept her from being a little faster picking someone else for this group project?

"I guess we ought to figure out a place to work on this, right?" Gwynn asked, when the smaller girl stayed silent. "We can use my room, if you want, my roomie isn't around much."

"C-Could we maybe meet at the library?" the little squirmed. "I-I do work-study there, so I can reserve us a room pretty easily."

Later on, Josephine - the little - would admit to Gwynn that she'd been worried about what would happen if she went to an Amazon's room by herself, having heard plenty of horror stories. Like Gwynn, however, she'd never really had the chance to get to know an Amazon in real life until coming to college, and now, she was too intimidated to have a conversation with her professors, or her bigger classmates, or anyone else.

Nevertheless, the two hit it off quite well, and, even after the group assignment was over, they'd get together to chat, or study, or just hang out, each finding the other interesting. One day, they decided they wanted to go study somewhere off campus, to get away from the place where they spent all of their time.

Mostly, they wanted to go for a walk... They did spot a cozy cafe, though, and, since it was starting to drizzle, they decided to duck in and give it a try. As if on cue, the drizzle turned into a downpour, sending them both dashing desperately for the door, Gwynn kindly waiting outside for Josephine, with her far shorter legs, to catch up before stepping inside.

"This place is even cuter on the inside," Josephine observed, trying to brush the excess water off herself.

"It is," Gwynn agreed. "Where do you want to sit?" Josephine looked around, pointed to a small table just a few feet away, and the two headed for it, almost getting beaten there by a cheerful waitress, carrying a highchair.

"Here you go!" she declared helpfully, setting it down before Josephine could position herself in one of the normal seats. "Well, aren't you a cutie?" she gushed, pinching Josephine's cheeks, glancing between her and Gwynn. "Have you adopted her?" she asked, seemingly confused by Gwynn's relatively young age. "Oh, are you babysitting? Or is this an 'adoption date?'"

Gwynn blushed, shook her head. "N-No," she said awkwardly, giving Josephine a sympathetic look. "We're just friends, that's all!"

"And what's your name?" the waitress asked Josephine, giving no sign that she'd heard what Gwynn had said.

"Umm... J-Josephine," she answered.

"Josie!" the waitress smiled, as if that were exactly what Josephine had told her, and not a nickname she'd just pushed on the girl herself. "What an adorable name for an adorable little girl! Now, sweetie, do you need a diaper change before you eat? Or do you not know? You can always ask your Mommy to check!"

Gwynn's face lit up even brighter on behalf of her friend. "I told you, we're friends! I'm not her Mommy! And she doesn't wear diapers, so...!"

"Actually," Josephine interrupted, with a blush of her own. "I-I do think I need a change."

"Oh, such a clever girl for being able to tell," the waitress winked at Gwynn, like there was some big secret joke they were sharing. "We have a nice, private nursing room right over there with a changing table you can use... Diapers are on the house!"

Gwynn caught her eyes drifting to the seat of her friends jeans as they made their way to the nursing room. Did Josephine wear diapers?! She'd never said anything about it, and Gwynn had never asked, had just assumed she didn't... She definitely excused herself to the bathroom now and then, but was it to change herself?

As soon as they were in the privacy of the nursing room, Gwynn had to ask; not only because she was curious, but also so that, if she didn't - or if she did and wanted an out to not have to reveal that to Gwynn - they didn't have to take this any further than they had to. "A-Are you really in diapers? Or do you want to get out of here? We can find somewhere else, or head back to campus, or..."

"It's fine," Josephine assured her. "I don't wear diapers."

"Of course," Gwynn nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. "I-I mean, I didn't think so, but..."

She paused as the other girl started to unbutton her jeans, Gwynn immediately seeing something underneath that wasn't cloth. After a moment, it became obvious that, while what Josie had told her was technically true, it really depended on how you defined a diaper, because what she had on certainly wasn't panties.

"I-I do wear Pull-Ups sometimes," Josephine confessed. "Especially when I'm going out. It can be hard to find bathrooms made for littles in this town."

"O-Oh... Yeah..." Gwynn said, wishing she'd been observant enough to realize that herself. Honestly, however, what was truly drawing her attention was the Pull-Up itself, and the design on the front, which was clearly faded. "Do you, uh... need a change?"

She didn't want to make things awkward, but she didn't want Josephine to get a rash, either. "K-Kinda," she nodded, blushing a little bit. "The rain outside distracted me..."

"Of course," Gwynn told her, and, almost without thinking, and certainly without asking permission, she scooped Josephine up, setting her down on the changing table. "Sorry! Is this okay?"

Josie squirmed slightly on the table, face warming further, though she did say, "Y-Yeah. It would have been tough getting up here on my own."

"I thought so," Gwynn fibbed. It sounded good, and made it seem less like that had simply felt like what needed to be done. Just like she was now looking through the offered diapers, the obvious next step, without waiting for any sort of okay from her friend. That could be easily excused, too, however, since there was only one thing offered, in various sizes - the cafe's own brand of big, bulky, taped diapers, complete with babyish prints. Gwynn had no doubt they sold packages of these, too, and this was meant as a way for Mommies to try them out before buying them as much as it was a convenience for their customers.

There were no other, thinner brands, no Pull-Ups, nothing else. "Well, this is, uh... what they have," Gwynn held one up.

"It's okay," Josephine nodded, although Gwynn could see her eyes widen a bit when she saw the size of it. "I don't think the waitress is going to let us stay if I come out of here not in a diaper."

"We can leave," Gwynn reminded her.

"I can wear a diaper for a little bit to avoid the rain," Josephine shrugged. Gwynn ripped open Josie's Pull-Up, cleaning the girl up with the provided baby wipes, sliding the diaper under her, everything coming so smoothly, so naturally, even to someone who had never babysat, or had a younger sibling to take care of. In no time, she had her friend diapered up, and was tugging her jeans up her legs when she made a discovery.

"Umm... These aren't going to fit," she looked to Josephine apologetically.

"I-It's okay," Josie wiggled. "I-It's just for a bit..." She felt absolutely babyish when Gwynn picked her up off the table, however, carried out of the nursing room and across the cafe in only her shirt and diaper. Things didn't improve as she was slid into her high chair, the bulky diaper crinkling loudly as it filled the seat, giving her surprisingly little room to fidget. She really wished she hadn't chosen a table so close to the door, where anyone who walked in, or peered through the glass door, could see her sitting there...

Of course she was given a different menu than Gwynn, one that was clearly made to be used not just for ordering, but to be colored in, too, to entertain her. She suspected anything on this menu was going to mess with her in some way, but after their walk, and all the other excitement, she was feeling hungry... And she doubted the waitress would let her order off Gwynn's menu. "A chocolate cookie and some milk?" she decided to start with.

"Such a good choice!" the waitress beamed. It wasn't a shock when the milk came in a baby bottle, warmed up. She was a bit surprised when she was given a whole pile of cookies, however, rather than one, all looking big enough for Gwynn, not her. Maybe that was a good sign? Maybe they were out of the ones made for littles? Or maybe the waitress just wanted to be sure Josephine got plenty of whatever was in there...

"Does that look good?" the waitress asked, and Josie forced herself to smile. It did, actually... She simply knew that, as she nibbled on one of the cookies to quell her growling tummy, that she should probably prepare herself for the worst, just in case. "I'm glad! There's a playpen you can go have fun in when you're finished."

That last word sounded ominous, whether she meant it that way or not. Josephine gulped down her first bite of the cookie, feeling the bulky diaper between her legs.

"Let's, uh... Let's get started on studying," Gwynn said, opening up her bag to start pulling her books out, as if she were pretending none of this was happening... And that she wasn't doing her very best not to stare at her friend's diapered crotch, peeking out under the highchair's tray, thinking about how she'd been the one to put her in it, for better or worse.
