Note: After this, this story will be paused for at least a month, but it will return!
Vivi was a full-time daycare student, but that didn't mean she had to spend all her time at daycare... It was just the only place she was going to school at the moment, in what was a pretty severe downgrade for her.
After what had happened last time she'd gone to daycare on what normally would have been her day off from it - having to slink in, Dani holding tight to her hand, waddling her right up to Miss Katie and announcing that Vivi needed a change - Vivien had a much harder time convincing herself to go back when she didn't 'need' to... As if any of this was something she was somehow obligated to do. There was nothing stopping her from simply not showing up at daycare anymore...
Nothing aside from how much she knew she'd miss it. Even now that Miss Katie had seen her in, and changed her out of, a dirty diaper, and the rest of the staff no doubt knew about what she'd done, so they could be ready if she did it again, she still enjoyed her time there. It had taken a little more time that day for the shame to wear off, of course, but by the end of the day, she was playing and laughing and having as wonderful and carefree a time as ever.
And the next day, it happened again. She had no idea what was going on, why, all of the sudden, she was getting so little warning, why it seemed like she was going so much... Then again, she wasn't used to her messes ending up in her pants, so perhaps this was how much she normally went, and she was just experiencing it in a different way. It was almost like her accidents knew about her decision to take a break from college, and were pushing her to spend all of her time at the daycare, as a baby... Except that the accidents were why she was taking a break in the first place.
She'd really tried this time, too, having spent most of the day distracted, waiting for that familiar feeling in her tummy, before hopping up from the coloring book she was working on, rushing to find Miss Katie, then quickly changing course, trying to get to any worker, realizing she didn't have time to be picky... And then, all at once, it was too late altogether.
Was she sick? That had to be the only explanation... What was happening to her definitely wasn't diarrhea, though. She knew that was a symptom of a lot of things, but what could just pooping your pants in general mean?
She should go to the doctor: that was the grown-up, responsible thing to do. She should do that the next day, when Dani thought she was heading to college... But she was scared.
She knew it was a silly, childish thing to be afraid of the doctor, to need to be bribed by the promise of some candy at the end of the visit; she thought she had a good reason, however. If she went, she'd have to wear diapers, or risk having an accident in the waiting room, surrounded by other people, or as she sat in the exam room waiting for the doctor or one of the nurses to get to her. Once she told the doctor why she was there, she'd understand why she was in a diaper, obviously, but that wouldn't stop it from being humiliating. And, if she wanted the best chance of helping the doctor diagnose her, she'd have to tell her why she'd started wearing diapers in the first place...
To top it all off, she'd been going to this doctor for as long as she could remember, as had her whole family. Her parents were friends with her... Would that supersede whatever doctor-patient privilege Vivi had? Would the doctor tell her parents about this, either to check in on how Vivi was doing, or off-handedly at the Christmas party this year, assuming they were aware of what their daughter had been doing?
It was too risky, especially for something she was positive would end on its own. It was a fluke, a freak accident... Even if it was happening more and more, sometimes, to her horror, twice in a day. There was one evening where she was lying in bed, reading a book, assuming she was safe because she'd already pooped her pants at daycare earlier, so she wasn't paying attention, didn't think anything of the growing fullness in her tummy, and then, all of the sudden, she was filling her Pull-Ups.
All of that made doing anything else with her time off difficult. With her extra free time she could go out and do something fun, or see about getting another part-time job for just those days, or... The possibilities were endless, until she factored in her fear of messing herself while she did any of them, which was enough to keep her stuck at her house, or Dani's, hanging out, watching TV.
It was such a waste... And so much less convenient than being at daycare, having somebody else change her when she needed it. After her first accident, especially, when she hadn't known how to react, and had let Dani take control briefly, she didn't want to give the other girl the satisfaction of sinking to her level, of becoming truly a full-time daycare brat, spending every weekday there...
But, really, it was all she wanted to do, and all she had the courage to do. She didn't say anything about it at first, as if, somehow, Dani wouldn't notice. She just started to park the car at the daycare every morning and walk in with the girl. Of course, Dani commented on it, and Vivien ignored her as long as she could, until the next Monday when Dani pointed out, "You didn't go to college all last week... Are you going to go this week?"
"I'm taking a break," Vivi snapped, hoping that would shut Dani up, keep her from constantly reminding her of that fact. If she didn't bring it up, Vivi could more easily pretend she hadn't dropped all of those classes, that there wasn't anything out of the ordinary here... Other than a fully grown young woman choosing to spend her time at daycare. "You wouldn't understand... College is tough, and sometimes, you need a little time off. That's all it is."
"I see," Dani nodded. "You told me that you could only be absent from your classes so many times, though, and..."
Vivi rolled her eyes. "Dani, it's none of your concern. I know what I'm doing."
So, naturally, that was the day that, as she was getting her last change before heading home, it finally happened.
"No!" Vivi shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. "I won't!"
Miss Katie sighed. "Sweetie, I'm not trying to be mean... And it isn't up to me. It's just something I think I should suggest to your parents. There's nothing wrong with it, and nobody here is mad at you, okay?"
That didn't do much to cheer Vivi up as she was handed a note. She wanted to open it up and see what it said, but obviously she couldn't, not right in front of Miss Katie. "Okay," she sulked, fidgeting with her skirt.
"Good girl," Miss Katie patted her on the head. "I'll see you tomorrow."
Tomorrow... Vivi squirmed, blushed. It was no surprise that Miss Katie had noticed she was showing up every day, too; Vivi wondered how big her daycare bill was going to end up being now, if she was going to make any money at all from her babysitting after she finished paying that off.
"Are you in trouble?" Dani teased as they walked out to the car. "I saw you got a note sent home. Do you want me to sign it for you?"
"No!" Vivi squealed, shaking her head. She was, of course, curious to see exactly what it said, but, at the same time, she didn't really want to see those words, and she definitely didn't want Dani to.
"Okay," Dani giggled. "But you do usually have me forge your mom's signature, so if Miss Katie sees it tomorrow and that's different, she might get suspicious, and..."
Vivi glared at her, annoyed when Dani didn't shrink away from her, or look intimidated in the slightest. She could understand why, when, at this point, she'd messed her diapers in front of the girl several times, but it didn't make the seeming complete disrespect for whatever authority she had left sting any less. She didn't say anything until they were in the car, all buckled in, and she'd sat in the driver's seat for a long, tense moment.
"Fine," she caved, digging in her glove box for a pen, passing it and the note to Dani. "Just sign it, you don't have to read it."
It was better to do it now, she reasoned, to get it over with. She didn't want to risk forgetting it, and she didn't want to do it after they'd picked up Tessa, in case she got curious and wanted to know what was on the note... Or Dani thought it was funny enough to show her sister, regardless of whether she noticed or cared what they were doing.
Because, of course, despite her instructions not to, Dani immediately unfolded the note and started to read, smirking to herself the whole time, proving further how little fear she had for what her babysitter could do to her. "Wow," she chuckled, scrawling out a signature at the bottom. "What a baby..."
"Shut up!" Vivi huffed, grabbing for the note, Dani yanking it away at the last second, out of her reach. "Dani, give it back!"
"I don't know," Dani shrugged, avoiding Vivi's hands a second, then third, time, effortlessly. "Maybe I should keep it... It would make a nice keepsake. Oh, but then you'd get in trouble with Miss Katie, wouldn't you? I bet she'd call your parents directly to see what was going on, why they didn't sign it... I'm sure she'd love to discuss this with them... And that they'd love to talk about how their big college girl is supposed to be in diapers full time now."
She was the babysitter... She was in charge here. It should be simple to take control, make Dani behave... But hearing those words, imagining them happening, knowing that, from now on, she was going to have to change into diapers at Dani's house - and back out, if she didn't want to be in full-blown diapers around her parents, which she certainly did not, it was all too much for her. "Give it back!" she whined, stomping her feet against the floorboards of her car, feeling like just as much a baby as Dani in the moment, and far more helpless, knowing the other girl had all the power here. "Give it back!"
"Sure," Dani chuckled. "You'll get it back... Tomorrow, before we go into daycare, after you let me diaper you, and pick out an outfit for you."
Vivi gulped, thinking of the outfits she'd chosen for Dani, especially when she'd first started babysitting for her... And of the fact that she'd fallen so far that Dani was going to do for her what she'd done for Dani so many times since this job had begun. But, like it or not, what else was there to say to that 'offer' except a begrudging, "O-Okay... Wh-Whatever you want..."
