"Hey, Gabi," Olivia turned, picking up the object she'd found. "What's this?"

If anything, it looked more like a stick than anything, although it was strange that it had been buried under a bunch of textbooks on her friend's desk. She assumed, at first, that it wasn't actually important... Until she saw the look on her friend's face, and the urgency with which she snatched it out of her hands.

"I-It's nothing," Gabriella claimed, but it was clear to both of them how big of a lie that was. The way she held it, pointing one end at Olivia, the strange feeling Olivia had gotten when she touched the stick, as if it was crackling with energy, the determination on Gabriella's face...

"Oh, my God," Olivia's eyes widened. "You're a witch, aren't you?" That explained so many things... Why Gabi had gone off to another school a few years ago, why Olivia had never heard of the school she went to now, or find it online to figure out how she could see about transferring there, too, if they'd accept her college credits, why she was always so secretive about what she did there... Olivia had been afraid they were growing apart as friends, now that they weren't together all the time, but it was more complicated than that.

"You can't know that!" Gabriella sighed, flopping down onto her bed. "I really should make you forget you figured it out, but... I just can't, not to you, Livy."

"I won't tell anyone," Olivia sat down next to her. "I swear! This is so cool!"

"No, it's not," Gabriella shook her head. "I'm gonna get kicked out soon anyway... I have this big assignment that was due last week, and I could never find a willing test subject... The teacher is awful, she's, like, the worst, and she wouldn't help me at all. She gave me one more chance, but I still don't know what I'm going to do!"

"Hey," Olivia rubbed her friend's arm gently. "It's okay... You know, I'd love to get to see your school, and if I can help you out at the same time..."

Gabriella looked over at her, blushing. "Oh, Livy, that's sweet, I just... I-I don't know... I-It's for Mesmerism, and I'm not great at it... I wish I didn't have to take it, but the class is mandatory. The teacher hates that I keep bringing up in class how controversial it is, and how some other magic schools don't teach it at all..."

"There are other magic schools?!" Olivia squealed, excited at this whole world she knew nothing about. "Come on, you have to take me! I wanna help!"

"It's really risky," Gabi told her. "I-I want to do good things with my magic, so I've barely even practiced, and I'd have to do so much to feel confident enough to feel safe doing it on anyone, especially you... Although..." She looked over at her friend again, the wheels in her mind turning. "You were always so good in the school plays... All you really have to do is act in a way that you wouldn't normally, on cue, and then... I-I could show you how to be a witch yourself, and then maybe by next year, you could come to school with me!"

"Yeah!" Olivia nodded eagerly. "So, what do I have to do?"

That part stumped them, Gabriella unsure what to pick that would really fool her teacher. They didn't come up with an answer before they both had to head back to their respective schools, but the next week, she texted Olivia and asked her to go back home over that weekend, too. When Olivia got to her room, she was ready. "I have the perfect thing!" Gabi exclaimed. "I was looking through the more advanced chapters in my course book, and I found a section on regression magic. So, all you have to do is act like a baby!"

"Wh-What?" Olivia squirmed. "R-Really? There's nothing else that will work?"

"Not that won't involve some kind of magic," Gabriella shrugged. "This would be the easiest to fake, and it would be difficult enough for me to actually do to get the teacher off my back, maybe long enough to get me through the rest of the class. Please? This is my last chance with her..."

It took a little convincing, but, in the end, Olivia said yes, deciding it was a small price to pay for the chance to become a witch herself. Instead of heading back to her own college on Monday, she went to Gabi's house, where she'd laid out a whole selection of baby things, all enlarged to fit Olivia perfectly, including, to Olivia's shock, diapers.

It hadn't even occurred to her that she'd have to dress the part at all, much less to that degree. "It isn't that big a deal," Gabi promised. "It's only in front of me and the teacher, and it would really help sell it.

Olivia pouted, but, as an actress, she knew the costume was a big part of selling a character... And the clothes were pretty cute, for a toddler. She put them on, except for the diaper, which she refused, and, thankfully, Gabi let her off. Gabriella took her hand, and, in a flash, they had been teleported into a plain, empty room that, judging by the view outside the window, appeared to be floating in the middle of a black void.

There wasn't much to look at, yet Olivia was still doing just that when the door swung open, sending her scurrying back to her friend's side as a tall, pretty woman stepped in, a stern look on her face that made it obvious this was the teacher Gabi was so afraid of.

"Hmm," she raised an eyebrow, marching over to the pair of girls, slipping a finger under Olivia's chin and forcing it upwards. "You found a subject. Good. Now, let's see what you can do with her." She smirked, snapping her finger, the entire room instantly redecorated, turned into an oversized nursery.

Olivia glanced around the room again in awe, then remembered what she was here to do, popping a thumb into her mouth. It seemed natural as she sat down at Gabi's feet, listening to her explain about the spell she'd supposedly used, the components she'd had to collect, the precautions she'd taken... It was the sort of thing Olivia knew she'd have to learn if she really did start coming to school here, but, now, it meant nothing to her, and, if she listened too closely, it might tip the teacher off, so she crawled away to investigate the room.

If she hadn't seen the empty room a few moments before, she never would have believed it. It was filled to the brim now, with toy chests and cabinets, along with the usual changing table, crib, and high chair, all beautifully crafted. She couldn't stop staring at them, reaching out to touch the things she could reach to confirm they were there....

Until she felt something else. She frowned, wiggling in place, knowing that something felt odd, but unable to place it until she looked down at herself and saw, in horror, that she wet wetting herself. She gasped, fighting to stop... Unfortunately, it was too late, the damp spot on her cute, babyish pants growing until they, and the floor beneath her, were soaked.

"Well," the teacher sniffed, "looks like you didn't take ALL the precautions."

"Oh!" Gabriella forced a smile. "I-I don't know how I forgot the diaper... N-Not sure how that slipped my mind."

"Me, neither," the teacher told her. "Go on, then... Demonstrate it now. There are plenty on the changing table."

Livy quietly groaned, wishing she could call this whole thing off, hating that she was about to end up in a diaper after all... But, when Gabi gestured for her to crawl over to the changing table, she found herself obeying automatically, not thinking about it at all, making her wonder if maybe there had been some magic involved after all.

Gabi helped her up onto the table, whispering, "You didn't have to do that, but thanks," as she laid her down, stripping her out of her pants and panties, cleaning her up, sliding a big, crinkly diaper under her... Olivia expected to hate it, however, something about it felt... natural. Like that was the way it had always been. She squirmed, giggling as she listened to the diaper beneath her, thumb back in her mouth.

"Here you go," Gabriella set her back down on the floor with a hug and a bottle of formula.

"Fank yew," Olivia mumbled around her thumb, smiling up at Gabi, giving her diaper a pat with her free hand to demonstrate what she was thanking her for. Gabi nodded, patted her on the head, and went back to the teacher to start talking again.

Olivia picked up her bottle, starting to suck on it, trying to listen to them, knowing she was going to be one of them soon, but none of it made any sense at all. It was confusing, and it made her head hurt a little, so she crawled away, over to the toys. She knew she was too old for them, but, to her surprise, when she started to play with them, she couldn't help getting completely engrossed in them, giggling as she had fun, especially fond of the big dollhouse in the corner.

She knew she should be the Mommy, or at least the big sister, but it was so natural to imagine herself as the little baby doll, to think of her happy life living in that big house, having everything taken care of for her... It was such a nice, pleasant fantasy, at least until the grown-ups behind her started to argue. Olivia sniffled, feeling a little scared, clinging to Gabi's promise that this wouldn't take more than an hour. That wasn't that long, right? She could just play for an hour, and ignore them, and then go home...

Before she could, however, all the playing started to get to her, and she found herself yawning, staring up at the comfy-looking crib. She waited for a break in the argument and crawled over to her friend. "Gabi," she sniffled, staring up at her. "Nap time?"

The teacher sighed, rolling her eyes. "It's fine," she said. "We can take a break."

Gabriella led Olivia over to the crib, lowering the side for her and helping her in, giving her a big hug before tucking her in. "Thank you so much, Livy," she told her. "You're doing even better than I ever would have imagined!"

Livy nodded sleepily, yawning and popping her thumb back into her mouth, fast asleep before Gabi had even finished raising the side of the crib again.
