I have updated the Welcome Note with the following and wanted to let every existing patron know because I want to save some of yall money who may soon be paying extra. The following ONLY applies to those who have pledged to me through the iOS version of the patreon app - if you pledged to me on desktop, mobile browser or android app then this does not matter. FOR ANYONE WHO HAS PLEDGED VIA THE APP IN THE IOS STORE (iphone patreon app)
As of August 12th 2024, Patreon has announced that ANY PLEDGES MADE THROUGH THE APPLE/IOS STORE APP ARE GOING TO BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL FEE ON TOP OF THE PLEDGE. If you have pledged to me through the apple app version of patreon, know that for whatever tier you have pledged to: you are paying more than you need to as your pledge is covering the app transaction fee. This extra fee will be charged every month after the fact because the A in Apple is for Ass and not in the fun kinda way.
If your goal is to give more money to ME - pledging through the iOS app gives me no additional revenue. I receive the same amount of your pledge as I would if you pledged on android or desktop/browser.
If your goal is to get the most for your money AKA just SAVE more money and not pay more than you need to - pledging through the iOS app is the most expensive option for no reason so dont do that again.
Seeing as you have already pledged this first time, what is done is done however you can of course cancel your pledge and repledge through one of the following options.
Desktop: Log into a laptop or computer, go to patreon.com/krispnatz and pledge as you would.
Mobile Browser: go to safari or chrome or whatever internet browser you use and type in patreon.com/krispnatz and log in and pledge as you would on desktop.
Know that the issue is not stemming from using the iOS app but from making payments on it so you can continue to use the iOS app to access creators, listen to podcasts, etc BUT do not pledge through it as you will be paying "the apple tax" monthly. Personally I have deleted the patreon app altogether cause i viscerally disagree with this decision, think patreon SHOULD leave the iOS store and you can access patreon on mobile browser just fine (for the most part) but do you, AND AGAIN WELCOME LMAO

TLDR:
Fuck apple for continuing to be the root of all internet fuckery due to their puritan pushing in the name of child exploitation that invites more minors into adult spaces. Why make a digital location (the app store) where payments occur more child friendly? Because you want money from the kids, its unethical and Im so excited for the eventual lawsuit from the government for them intentionally marketing to minors, itll be the Adpocalype (Apple's Version).
Fuck patreon for continuing to try too hard to be the hottest new social media platform. "For creators by creators" my sweaty, hairy, hemorrhoid filled ass, they tossed the most hardcore 18+ creators the first chance they got and theyll do the same to the rest who barely missed the cut once apple pushes them to after they adhere to this shit. Like I said its fuckin Tumblr all over again ITS ALWAYS APPLE he angrily typed from his Macbook before going to check his email on his iPhone.
