It's funny, There is an automated tool that is designed to handle all of the processes to make the full-scale New Cyana map a reality. It didn't work..... so we brute forced a solution into place over the course of a month!
Alright, now to discuss what means on a more serious note: My backup plan to have a second build running the Unity 2018 has hit a few additional snags but the Terrain has been translated over, and detailing is also in progress on that map. Ocean water might look really nice in the 2017 version but it comes with a LOT of bugs & limitations.
Progress Report: I have made many further improvements to the stability of Unity 2017 that seem to have made the jump to Unity 2018 far less of a priority. There are still some very large-scale changes coming to the New Cyana Islands as we move forward that are going to improve gameplay overall. Those changes are going to take additional time to implement but it's getting MUCH easier to handle this now that there are far fewer crashes and lockups. There is more work that is going to be getting done after this goes live for @Alpha Team & @Alpha Testers to further optimize the performance, additional notes from the team members will make this go a lot quicker. I'm finding a balance between performance and not having to drop all of the resolutions to where it looks like garbage. I am getting better at catching and eliminating memory leaks.
