Hey guys!

Belly inflation gameover scene won Ming's HCG poll, so it will be implemented in the next build after ver. 0.31

Caron's character animations are mostly complete, I integrated the basic voice pack for her and we’ll get more sounds with phrases in March for her, too, because of the high workload of the schedule of her voice actress. Here is some example video with her playable character (GFYCAT with sound): https://gfycat.com/neighboringinfamousannashummingbird

Caron is designed for defense and avoiding combat, so her shields are more powerful than Kira's shields and she also jumps significantly higher. Her frontal melee attack which consumes energy can create a temporary shield that can be used as an obstacle for the enemy bullets. If the shield was destroyed completely by the enemy fire, it will explode with the EMP explosion. Here is the example video of how it works (GFYCAT with sound): https://gfycat.com/snarlingpitifulcanary

The drawback of this character is that she is sprinting a little bit slower than Kira, she is not that good with weapon accuracy and her basic HP is lower by 25% than Kira’s.

Also, here are the illustration videos of how new guns work (GFYCATs with sound).

Stun gun

The first gun is simple, but the most wanted one, I think, is a stun gun. It uses the same ammo as a teleporter gun and it creates silenced short-range projectile that can stun almost everything in the game (the effect similar to One Punch Fist upgrade). Stealth-action games value such kinds of weapons more than anything, so that's why it was introduced only in the middle of a game and it uses this rare type of ammo.

Liquid metal gun and plasma gun

Another two guns which will be extremely useful for combat with small aerial and land units are liquid metal gun and plasma gun. Liquid metal gun fast-fires a bunch of projectiles that can ricochet vertically from the surfaces and a plasma gun fires projectiles similar to Sentinel Bot's bullets along with default short-range auto-targeting of enemies. These guns use new types of ammo because there may be a couple of new guns at Chapter 4/5 with a similar type of rare ammo.

“Grim reaper” Sniper Rifle

The most multi-functional weapon of this update is the Agency sniper rifle and a sniper scope weapon upgrade. You may remember this rifle from Stage 2.3 and its playable version comes with an installed sniper scope by default. You can buy this scope separately to install it on several other existing guns, too. The aiming mode is activated when you sit with a gun that has this type of scope and if the gun has guided ammo then its bullets will be auto-aimed at the target.

New 30x115 mm projectiles that are used by this rifle is basically auto-cannon(!) type of bullets IRL (large guns installed on helicopters/APCs/jets). So the bullet shot from this rifle can pierce up to three enemies. The drawback of this rifle is its sound - it's extremely loud and you will draw lots of attention by firing it without a silencer. Considering how spawners work in Chapter 3 - it can be an issue, especially because this gun generates lots of heat and you will not be provided with lots of ammo for it.

It can be useful for some situations though, especially when it's equipped with a silencer and proper sniper scope. Sniper rifle is not a godlike weapon in the game because you may encounter long-range enemy sniper units in Chapter 4 or 5, and you will have to use different ways to avoid or flank them.

Remotely-controlled charges

My decision to add remotely-detonated charges into the scope of this build was made not only because they are featured in Metal Gear, but because I noticed that using only landmines isn't convenient for the player. Some random enemies can trigger a landmine that you wanted to place for another enemy, also there are flying enemies that often don't touch the ground at all, etc. So there are five types of charges, the same as landmines. They don't detonate because of a collision with a player or an enemy, they should be activated manually or hit by a bullet/HE explosion. The activation works the same way as changing fire modes for the weapons - you select the same type of the charge using the quick access panel, if your current equipped charge type is the same then the second selection will detonate all placed charges of this type.

Here is an example of how placing sleeping gas charges and activating them while you're hidden in the doorway can be done: https://gfycat.com/admiredunfitkoala

Breachable walls/floors/ceilings

Thin breachable walls will be visually distinctive parts of Stage 3 and other next levels, you can breach them using explosives or by putting lots of bullets into them. (GFYCAT: https://gfycat.com/popularangryafricancivet ).

They are highlighted when Visual Tracking upgrade is on, also I added highlighting for explosive objects there, too. Sniper rifle rounds can penetrate not only enemies but these walls, too. You can also use the teleporter gun to pass through these walls and hide from the enemy.  (GFYCAT: https://gfycat.com/flusteredvigorousant )

Breachable level parts were added mostly not for killing people, but for finding alternate way to get to the target and mission 3.2 will be focused on them when you play as Caron. Basically, it's about finding a way to avoid combat, lurking around the level to breach in some other place and avoid complicated level part with enemies or spawners.

Here are our remaining tasks for ver. 0.31, it’s mostly level design and two new corporation Z robot types + some sex scenes with them for Caron and Sigolla:

Stay tuned for more updates! Thanks for your patience and please remember that I post different stuff more often on Discord!
