"Hey, you doin okay down there, kiddo?" called Colt over the noise of the room, looking over at the giggling Robbie.
Robbie nodded, blushing as he noticed everyone turning his way.
"You want anything else to eat?" called Colt.
"Um.. just some more green beans, please," called Robbie, cupping his hands around his mouth to make himself heard.
"Comin right up, kiddo!" said Colt. This last sentence was very easy to hear because the room was Dead silent.
Everyone stared at Robbie as he took a second helping of vegetables. and even colt Paused as he turned around to see the family gawking.
"What? D did I do something wrong?" asked Robbie, looking down at himself to see if he hadn't sprung another leak without realizing it.
"I’ll be darned…" said Papa Ronald. I never thought I’d be seein' little Robbie eating veggies!" Ronald gave out a laugh and slapped his knee, tickled. There were murmurs of agreement from the other family members. Robbie hated veggies. Everyone knew that.
"How ever did you manage it Colt?" asked Aunt rosie, as Robbie dug into the green beans with his hands, the only utensils he had been allowed to feed himself with.
"Lots of practice," replied Colt. "And building good habits. Isn’t that right, Robbie?"
"Das' wight," he said through a mouthful of green beans. Of course everyone had to laugh at that. The sight of Robbie stuffing his face full of green beans, double fisting them, even, and making a mess on his face and bib was just too funny and cute to deny. Even when he was at his most bashful, Robbie had just gotten accustomed to being the little boy he was inside. Not that he had ever hidden it very well at all.
Once dinner was over, little Robbie had his face and hands wiped clean with a damp dishcloth, and was sent to the playroom to play.
"He really does look happier that way," said Andy, as he and Colt looked in on the boy, playing tea party with his niece and nephew.
"Of course he is," said Colt. "You know Robbie. Did you ever think he really grew up?"
"No," chuckled Andy. "I guess not. Dad sure was hard on him for a while there, though. Always thought he'd make Robbie into a man or something. Mom too..."
"And you?" asked Colt.
"No, I was too busy with my nose buried in a book to pay him much attention. He was more active with the other boys. I had to be the studious 'responsible' one, so I didn't get much of a childhood myself. I was always kind of jealous of him for that..."
"Well, you know... you don't have to be..." said Colt, giving Andy a devious grin.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, that nursery isn't going to be occupied forever, and I'm pretty sure I had some larger diapers in the order. Just saying. Could be a chance to see what you missed out on."
"Ahh, haha... no, no... that's not for me..." said Andy, but Colt could already see the man blushing, and knew that the seed had been planted in his mind.
"Well, it's not like anyone has to know, even though I think it's funner with your partner. That's the best part. And you don't have to dress up like Robbie there to try it, though it is pretty magical just how different you'll feel when you do. Even just sitting down and watching cartoons with the family could be a nice relaxing and safe way to try what you missed out on."
"Oh, come on. Now you're beginning to sound like a salesman," said Andy.
"Haha, maybe it's just my own bias but I think everyone should have a little rejuvenation vacation once in a while. I mean, when was the last time you watched cartoons with your family?"
"Gee, I don't know... I keep pretty busy to be honest..."
Colt just raised his eyebrows and nodded, before giving Andy a pat on the back. "Well, don't stay too busy for too long or you'll miss out on life. I should know. I'm a lawyer."
"But for a lawyer you seem pretty relaxed. What's your secret?"
"I've told you all you need to know from me," said Colt. "Just think about it."
He left Andy scratching his chin as he tapped Robbie's shoulder and gestured toward the living room.
"Hey, kiddo. Let's get you changed, okay?"
"Aww! I was playin'!" whined Robbie.
"Now, now. You want to set a good example for the little ones don't you?"
Robbie crossed his arms and pouted, but Daddy tickled him behind his ear and he quickly giggled and forgot his frowns. It was hard to stay mad when he was with Colt.
"Let's go, little man." Finally Robbie relented.
"Okay, Daddy," he said, and allowed Colt to lead him by the hand back to the upstairs guest room where he could be changed in privacy.
"Such a good boy you are," said Colt, handing Robbie his teddy as he began the diaper change. Colt smiled down at Robbie as he pulled down the boy's diaper. "You sure are cute like this, kiddo. Shame we have to put pants on ya."
Robbie just sucked his thumb and stared at his toys. It helped him feel more little to look away as he was being changed, or even close his eyes as he hugged his Teddy.
"Huh, that's funny... I coulda sworn I had more pamps stacked up here... Hmmm... I wonder..."
Colt smiled and rubbed his chin. It looked like they had a pamper pilferer in their midst, and he had some fun plans in store for whoever it might be.
