I had the pleasure of modeling for a 1:1 figure drawing session the other day, and the artist I worked with was beyond talented!
Peep the two sketches of mii to the left✍️ Those were just his warm up drawings, and after that, we worked on a longer pose that he began painting on a dope multimedia canvas which will take him a while to complete.
Posing as a live nude model is significantly different and much more challenging in many aspects than photography. While both physically and mentally demanding, figure modeling requires extended holds in tough positions. Luckily with my yoga/meditation background, when holding these difficult poses, focused, intentional, deep breathing always carries me through the uncomfortable bodily sensations which allows me to fall into a more meditative state.
I’m always enthralled with how my shape & form & lines & curvature & energy is perceived and then translated into a masterpiece by each artist.
