I’ve honestly had a very frustrating week. I’ve been very restless, resorting to off-label antihistamines labeled as sleeping tablets which luckily work wonders (Restavit/doxylamine if you’re wondering, and currently trialing another medication called Valdoxan to help with alertness and regulation of sleep).
My day started off great. My partner surprised me with poached eggs on toast and a long-black (my favourite breakfast~). But then the day became pretty grim. I stuck a finger in my vagina and every part of the soft tissue I touched just felt like it was burning! I went through the paranoia a few months beforehand - could it have been a piece of condom/tampon that was lodged up there? Perhaps a deep tear? A rare symptom of an incurable STI? Is this the end of my career ;(. I think my studies have definitely added to my habit of catastrophising, but also all the check ups, ultrasounds and scopes, speculums, q-tips that have been shoved up there with no conclusive result, it definitely gets you down.
I have a very common syndrome called poly cystic ovary syndrome. Discovered early on in my career when my periods didn’t regulate after a few years. It can disrupt/change/alter hormone levels and can contribute to the severity of other conditions. I sometimes feel pain, inflammation, soreness etc and it’s completely random! But all docs are still unsure if that’s the underlying problem. A hassle isn’t it?
Next week isn’t looking to bright - had to cancel half a week of work, and potentially a threesome planned for my partner on Thursday (in my personal life). But the good news is, I’ll be here a lot more often to scratch my work itch - get ready for spam. Also start a conversation in the DMs, I would love to learn about you.
