It was a long trip. The jetlag was already hitting. I didn’t expect the conference to be as draining as it was. As I rounded the corner of the hallway, I saw that the door to my apartment was cracked open.
Oh shit. I thought. Did someone break in? Have I been robbed??
I tiptoe into the room, already feeling myself shaking. “Hello?” I call out, trying to keep my voice from trembling and cracking. “Is anyone here?”
“It’s just me, sweetie!” A voice calls from the living room. It’s my girlfriend, Ayla. I breathe a huge sigh of relief, setting my briefcase down now that I don’t have to try to use it as a weapon. But when I turn the corner, my heart rate shoots right back up again.
Ayla is sitting on the couch looking as beautiful as ever, but it’s what she has next to her that catches my eye.
“Hello, little one!” she smiles. Little one? She’s never called me that before… “Why don’t you have a seat?” she says, beaming.
I hesitantly lower myself on the chair across from her, hoping that the bag she has on her side is not what I think it is.
She waits a long time for me to say something, but when I don’t, she shrugs and smiles. “So while you were gone I went shopping for some new clothes for you at work. I figured it would be a nice surprise for you to come home and have a nice new suit. I know it was probably overstepping, but I used the door code to let myself in. I probably should have laid the suit across the couch, but I didn’t want it to get wrinkled. I went to put it in your closet and that’s when I found your little…box.”
I gulped. Or tried to. A lump seemed to be caught in my throat.
“Do you know what I found inside?” she asked in a motherly tone.
I did. Even though I hoped somehow it wouldn’t be true. My mouth hung agape, but still I remained shocked and silent.
“Awww!! Somewon must be shy!” she giggled, saving me the shame of having to answer. “I found lots of adorable wittle diapurrs!!”
My stomach dropped. It’s not like I was surprised by the news. It was just the finality of my deepest, darkest secrets being discovered that really hit home.
“Ohh! Don’t worry hunny! I’m not mad!” She smiled, “In fact, I’m a little intrigued. Instead of getting you a snazzy business suit for grown-ups, I should have been getting you a bunch of baby clothes!”
“I-i…i..” I tried to find the words, but all that came out was stammering and baby babble.
“D’awww! Don’t be embawwassed!” she cooed, “Mommy got you a bunch of new stuff!”
Mommy?
She started pulling items out of the bag. The diaper bag.
“I thought this would be SO cute on you!!” she said, holding up a giant pair of printed diapers with zoo animals all across them. “You had a wittle stuffed giraffe in your ‘toy’ box, so I figured diapies like these would be perfect for you! Maybe you can make sticky stains in it like you did on that poor stuffed animal…”
I felt like crying, but that wouldn’t help matters at all. Instead, I just sat there quivering.
“And this…” she continued, pulling out a very large pink onesie, “will go perfect with those pink wittle bows and booties you have in there!”
“A-Ayla…please…I can explain…” I finally managed to say.
“Oh you don’t have to explain at all, dear!” she smiled, “The box explained everything. It explains why you make such whiny, whimpery noises when we have sex–and why the sex doesn’t last very long at all, especially when I baby-talk you. I should have known there were better places for that teeny wieny of yours other than my pussy! And you knew all along too!”
“I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I –”
“Enough, hunny. You don’t have to explain. All you need to do is tell me whether or not you want to do this. Do you want me to make you dress and act like a wittle baby? A wittle baby…gurl?”
“I…I don’t…” I tried to fight it, tried to say otherwise, but something deep inside me spat out the real answer: “Y-yes. Yes I do…”
Ayla smiled victoriously.
“Good! Because it was gonna happen anyway. Now, before we get started, I think we need to go open up your little computer and go to your search history so you can show me all of the things you’re really into…”
