I wanted to make some drawings figuring out some anatomical/cultural stuff for our sci-fi RP. I'm tentatively going with "Cehlin" as the name for the species (in Bridh's language - they're from a newly oligarchical kingdom called Levenh).
While idk how much in depth I'll post about our RP itself (cringe), I really like drawing and designing characters for this world. Bridh works as a radio operator in the kingdom's only "port" for space travelers, and has met a lot of different aliens - humans included. While they don't really understand or care to participate in any sort of gender system, Bridh is fascinated with human womanhood and casually adopts the "she" equivalent pronoun and feminine language when speaking Sturdy (a very simplistic Common language for travelers). Either "she" or "they" work for referring to her, to reflect both her chosen pronoun in Sturdy, and the only pronoun that exists in her own language, Levenish.
I'll probably end up including more story-based stuff in my SFW sketchbooks (which if you can see this, you also have access to). I especially want to focus on Bridh's difficult relationship to Davarth (her mam, or birth parent), and her romance with my husband's character, who is a non-humanoid + self-described trans alien raised in a (space) American suburb. And also political intrigue.........Feeling extremely LeGuinpilled right now
