I said I'd have an update by the end of the month, and I made it JUST in time lol.

I've been slowly trying to teach myself how to use Clip Studio, after using PS exclusively through college and post-grad. I only pay 10/mo for PS, but it's honestly not worth the money to me compared to clip. I won't be able to make the switch completely until I'm finished with my current large-scale PS projects, but...soon. I will def appreciate having a little bit more to spare each month, lol.

A major reason why I stuck to PS for so long was my aversion to clip's tools...like literally the things that make it so convenient. I learned how to make comics traditionally first, and I liked having full control over how my panels, balloons, etc., drawing them by hand. I felt very comfortable doing all of that hand drawing in PS, but I was not comfortable having a program like clip almost essentially "do it for me". I also don't understand perspective despite having a full semester of it under my belt, so the perspective tool was (and still is) VERY hard for me to grasp lmao.

That said, after seeing so many people talk about how good clip is and how much PS sucks in comparison...I caved and tried it again. This time I forced myself to be patient and actually sat down and learned how the program works. It shaved a LOT of time off my process, though the learning curve was still pretty steep for me. I'm still a beginner, but if you're curious about the program and have any specific questions -- especially if you're bad with tech like I am -- I may be able to help!

ANYWAY -- I did this sketch in clip! I messed with the perspective rulers and fixed the issues I was having with the background. As you can see by how messy the figures are, I struggled a little bit with proportions/heights, but I think I'm satisfied enough with this to take it to inks! I will also be inking this in clip with some downloaded brushes, which I will link when the time comes.

I don't know when I'll have those inks uploaded, but it'll be before the 15th. November's sketchbook will be uploaded before the 10th as usual (it'll include a lot more of my process with clip, specifically for comic making). Thanks for reading!
