Significantly Improved Throttle Response

Throttle response in Assetto Corsa has been notably inaccurate, especially under low RPM and low throttle input conditions. This has made the simulation of daily driving feel unrealistic. With the introduction of intake pressure simulation, you can now rediscover the unique power delivery characteristics of each engine at different RPMs and throttle inputs.

  • This improvement will also be included in our UI apps featuring a boost gauge.

  • A standalone version of the intake pressure simulation will also be released.

Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT)

Unlike Assetto Corsa's native gearbox simulation, the power delivery during gear shifts is uninterrupted, though it features torque limits that are automatically applied. Auto clutch is way more realistic, and a dedicated launch control is included.

CVT Step Control

To improve driving feel and transmission efficiency, modern CVTs are often equipped with step control functionality, which activates automatically based on the driving mode and throttle input. To prevent transmission slip caused by rapid gear changes, torque limits are automatically set according to the current shift speed.

Sport Mode

With reduced shift delay and faster shift speeds, Sport Mode keeps the engine in a powerful RPM range and dynamically adjusts shift timing based on the intensity of driving. This allows drivers to enjoy the thrill of driving without the need for manual shifting. Depending on the transmission type, different features may also be enabled.

Shift Pattern / Logic Presets

Vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions have various gear layouts and functions. To support these as much as possible, we’ve utilized 4 extra inputs provided by CSP. These are mapped for paddle shifting, sport mode or O/D toggle, and a forward gear with upshift/downshift functionality. Even if you don’t have spare buttons for these functions, they can still be activated by holding the upshift/downshift buttons. Additionally, we’ve introduced 4 preset patterns/logics based on vehicle characteristics for easier setup: Eco, Manual, Sport, and Race.

Improved Torque Converter Lock-Up Logic

Traditional 4AT and modern 8AT have distinctly different lock-up logic. Through enhanced lock-up logic and shift timing algorithms, each type of transmission will now showcase more realistic and unique characteristics.

Setup Adaptation and Stability Improvements

The code has been rewritten to ensure that vehicle resets no longer crash the physics engine (e.g., AI cars getting stuck in reverse gear). Now it also recalculates proper shift points based on adjusted rev limits and gear ratios.

V1.5 Update

Since the V2 update will take more time to complete, we’ve decided to release a V1.5 version for The Rule of Physics patrons to provide early access to the current progress.
