Elen felt her limbs grow heavy as the creatures departed, her eyes wide with terror upon seeing more and more of her turn to stone, she had but a scant few seconds to let out a final, useless scream before she met her fate.

She was the first good prey that had wandered into this manor for years, the inhabitants only hoped she wouldn't be the last.
