Hey, y'all. Alice the code goblin here once more with your monthly dev log treat. I hope y'all failed NNN thanks to my amazing boss. If not... Well i applaud you dear patreon! he had some good stuff this month. Anyways. Enough with the pleasantries and stuff. You all came here for INFORMATION. Well, ask, and ye shall receive y'all horny patrons. So this dev log is going to be about the script. Not all of it mind. This is going to be about the inspiration behind the game (Though many of you may have already figured out what it was) a few jokes, references and teasers for what is to come.

First of. The inspiration.

As many of you may have figured out, due to the name (I mean, we have not precisely tried to hide it.), this game is inspired by a philosophical thought experiment. The prisoners dilemma! Best explained in this Ted-ed video. Basically. We are going to be playing with this. BUT WITH GENDER! So now that y'all have that background,d it is time for the setting. Nathan however got the idea for turning this into a game from this story by (Green Double Aught)[https://fictionmania.tv/searchdisplay/authordisplay.html?word=4358].

The premise

The premise, as with most nsfw games, is really rather simple. You are Brandon. A university student a bit short on cash. You found a well paying experiment you could take part in. The problem? You need to have two people there who know each other. So you convince your friend Miles to come along with you. Now. You stand there. READY TO DO SOME SCIENCE

The characters

Now, we all know games get made or broken by their characters and mechanics. Well fear not for we have a massive cast! ABSOLUTELY HUMONGOUS. Some might even say it is the biggest cast ever made for ANY PROJECT IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND. They would also be wrong and idiots. Luckilly that is no one of us!... right? Anyways. We have four characters within our midst that need introducing so let's get onto it! Disclaimer: In the interest of giving full names. I may have extended a few. They are mostly made by me and non canon. Names in underlined in bold are canon

Brandon Penusoff

Brandon is the main character of the game. He is a university student and since he is player controlled. His personality can change a bit depending on your choices. He along with proffesor Ripley are the main drivers of the plot

Miles Croesus

Miles is the best friend of Brandon. He is in the same University as Brandon himself. In contrast to Brandom himself. He is rich, has a wealthy father and was not too excited to be part of the experiment. Still he came along for Brandon's sake. (Why he did not just lend the guy money? who fricking knows XD). i had a lot of fun while writing him. With that luscious golden hair i felt it would be fitting if he was inspired by Draco Malfoy! for a few parts at least. He likes to swing his fathers autority around.

Professor Vestis Ripley

Professor Ripley is the brilliant mind behind the amazing machine that is the core of this game! The biomass redistribution converter. A machine that can shape any organic body to his liking! He is the eccentric and excitable man. Ask him a question and he is sure to answer! whether he is allowed too or not is another matter. He is happily married to his Assistant. Doctor Alex Dix. He still thinks she looked amazing in her suit.

Doctor and assitant Alex Dix

Doctor Alex Dix is the final character of the game. She is the calming force that controls Ripley's excitable energy. Reeling him in whenever it may need to happen. Together with Ripley she made this machine and off course. Mostly tested this wonderous marvel upon themselves. She is perhaps also the most mysterious character in this game. Having some... strange knowledge.

Now that we have been introduced to all of our characters. I have some teasers for you about the games size. For our first script is already rather sizeable. We have a script longer than nathans longest animations! (I am guessing. But fairly sure of this) Our script is no less than 19 pages long! 19 pages with branching dialogue options and optional content. the layout is like this:

Now, this is for our first version of the script. In this version, only 2 of the 4 options of the prisoner's dilemma are included. With further expansions (which may or may not already be planned), you can almost double the script, game size, and sprite count! ... do you hear that? Strange... I swear it was Nathan's drawing hand crying out in agony. BACK ON TOPIC! This script, like I said before, was our first draft. It is also my first writing job i have ever done. Nathan and I have worked on it together and reread it a few times before we were happy with it. Nathan wrote the intro, transformation, and character description. I wrote the aftermath after the transformations. My part took me 8 hours and gave me clear insight into how this game should progress as well as giving insight into how to code a few things. Like the cutscene system described in a previous devlog. Finally. As a final little teaser, I shall tell you guys how many voice lines we have at this current moment. With the help of some AWESOME voice actors, we have gotten no less than 900 voice lines at this moment! Now, with that final teaser. I shall be leaving you. Alice, the three code kobolds in a trenchcoat, will return next month! See y'all later!
