Hello hello,

for this month I decided to share with you my edit from the last video of me falling/fooling around in front of the camera. Many enjoyed the look so I thought this might be worth sharing.

They all follow a pretty similar editing technique so I worked out decent mid-ground and made that the preset, so that it becomes applicable for more photographs.

Personally I think this one works best on exactly these conditions - so that means sunny days with harsh light. The preset will balance out the highlights and shadows to retain a lot of detail and give you this softer airy feel. When used on an overcast day the preset will probably be too much in the de-contrasting so you'll end up with a flat image.

Also you can see in the preview that it's pretty saturated and warm. This preset works well with these types of environments that are surrounded by or directly in nature. The warmth is added with the curves and the colour wheels, not with the white balance, so you can keep the white balance rather neutral to retain the blues of for example the sky.

As always, this preset is not a one-click solution, but almost. I've added some text to the previews that tells you how I set the three settings that I recommend customising. So after applying make sure to check your White Balance, Tint and Exposure and if you like of course other settings too :)

Btw. I usually shot the RAWs slightly darker to protect the highlights, that is why I often increased the exposure in Lightroom.

Ohh and one more thing: When applied to portraits you might find that the skin tones become a little red. I recommend counter-acting that by pushing the Tint towards the green side which will give you less red skin tones plus a greenish look to the rest of the photo.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this preset! :)

Cheers,

Teo
