Howdy Tango Friends!

It’s been another busy week. Outside of normal holiday stuff, I did a lot of research and price checking for my new PC build. My goal was to get a working system by the end of January but things are going a lot faster than that. I decided to assemble it myself to save money and get more appropriate hardware. I managed to take advantage of Boxing Day sales and a couple online deals to assemble most of the components I need with around $1000 in savings. I am only missing a GPU and, although they are expensive and in short supply, I managed to track a great one down for this month and will use the savings there. I’m really pumped since I’ve never had a cutting edge system let alone a cutting edge system in 2023. It looks like it will be exponentially faster to work with. I am expecting render time reductions in the 90%s and other major productivity gains! It also opens up some other exciting future dev options.

To go with the new hardware I’ve been working on software too, setting up many scenes, locations, props, characters etc on the 3D side to begin production in earnest. I’ve really wanted to dive into producing more art but I am waiting on the last piece of the puzzle (GPU).

Writing wise, I had a few interesting ideas lately. I’ve begun sorting projects into different areas based on where they fit (some become Transfigure stories, other games, or potential comics). The ideas are stacking up so hopefully I can manage to secure enough resources to make them into finished projects. I probably have enough content and ideas for 5-10 + years of full time production.

The Transfigure ending tracker in my notes now has 83/100 endings (about double what is in the html game) so that’s really encouraging. Once I get my new system tuned in I will start fleshing out and chopping off a bunch of dead ends. There is tons of work left but I’m looking forward to this part. I know a lot of people doubted I would be able to finish the project but I know where essentially every branch is going and they are going to a lot of different places 😛 !

I also just booted up and ran a test with the new build (minus GPU) and it runs my dev app with zero lag(!!). This means developing the html game has gone from mind numbing to easy again. This should lead to a lot of new updates. I will try some test renders this week.

I wish you all the best in 2023!

Love,

Tango
