Hey folks.
Just thought I’d do an end of the month status now that I had a couple more days of solid writing.
The hummingbird spirit has been intense the past three months or so but I now scroll through my notes and see large blocks of nice full paragraphs. It is pretty clear I’ve built up a big story inventory… that just needs my least favorite and most time consuming part: editing to release quality. Because I am writing close to one hundred story lines at once it can be a bit frustrating when I write all day and then don’t really have anything in sequence to add to an update. It is this spirit that is both distracting and motivating. I have to follow this creative direction because it leads me to the best stories and the highest per hour production rates I ever get into.
I also spent nearly an entire day organizing my notes (and a bit of media). This is an important step to consolidate all story threads into its correct heading, which makes updating and writing on them much faster. (ie, I get an a romantic Evan idea, it goes under the Evan Romance heading to be combined into an eventual update).
It is kind of boring stuff but like sweeping a shop’s floor it has to be done at some point. The main reason I got on that organization tangent in the first place is because I wrote a really hot ending and then I lost it. (I found it later after an hour of searching). It was driving me nuts. So that’s why I am cutting 19 working documents down to hopefully around half that number with a greater number of headings and more clear definitions between the documents (for alt projects, commissions, director requests, working notes, content added to updates etc).
I am also setting up the coolest part of part 2 of this project: dozens of endings, running the gamut from terrifying to heart warming.
The first 50 endings have now been named, numbered, and coded into the various upcoming story sections. I have about 10 of these that I am actively working towards to add in the near term (over the next few updates). The stories are getting filled in from both directions (front to back and back to front). So when they ultimately meet it should lead to some rapid updates.
My goal is to produce at least one hundred unique quality endings and make it impossible to pick the best route in the game!
Thanks for sticking with me! Production probably seems a bit slow but it will pick up as fresh hours lead to a greater proportion of finished content.
I estimate the next update is about half done and it should be a doozy.
