The End of New Reactions, The Start of New Endeavors

This was a tough decision that I’ve been grappling with over the last several weeks, but I think it’s the best one. After a lot of thought and multiple discussions with family and friends I’ve decided to end the Patreon as we have known it in January (No requests for this month are impacted by this change).
I’ve spent my entire life working full time jobs just to pay the bills while chasing dreams/pursuing hobbies on nights and weekends (like I’m sure some of you do and millions of others do as well). I assumed that when I resumed a normal job after a few year hiatus doing YouTube full time throughout the pandemic that that would just continue as it always has. But I’ve had a sobering reality check these last few weeks.
I’m tired and I have no time lol. I could whine and moan and give plenty of examples here why this is now true but I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining. Believe me when I say I genuinely am not capable of finding the energy to create videos consistently at the level that I would be satisfied with. And it’s unfair to everyone here who has made making the videos so much fun to start to receive a product that I’m not proud of.
And trust me I’ve considered the options. Get rid of full albums. Get rid of mix tapes. Limit the month to 10 individual videos. Rotate request turns between a low level of Patrons. Take a couple months off and re-energize but keep the Patreon going with a video every week. Refocus on the podcasts and release them early on Patreon. Stop game streams and work 12 hour days recording at night after my son’s story time like I used to. It was looking at what I would need to reduce to based on my energy level and available time that made me realize it’s time to just let it go.
Real talk internet life is burning me out. Everyone optimizing thumb nails and begging for likes and getting $1 here, $2 there, everyone starting Patreons for everything trying to monetize their hobbies, professional consumerism, just, it’s just all becoming too much. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve done and I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished but I do not have the time or energy to chase endless views, clicks, likes, subs etc (and I'm not sure that I'd even want to if I could at this point haha). So I’m going to keep being creative but in a more fulfilling and hopefully more “pure feeling” way if that makes sense.
So what am I going to do now? What happens with Patreon? What happens with this discord? What’s up with the podcasts? Will u ever upload to YouTube again? Internet #1 game strimmer when??!!
PATREON - Patreon will exist for the foreseeable future up to the $10 tier so that people who find me on YouTube in the future can enjoy the hundreds of exclusives that exist there. I also want to give you existing supporters time to catch up on videos you may have missed. I have no plans to outright delete the Patreon page but I do plan to get rid of the higher tiers and not post any new videos on Patreon.
DISCORD - Discord isn’t going anywhere. Anyone who wants to stay here and continue evolving the friendships and community we’ve built is more than welcome. I still like the idea of a public/general discord and a more tight knit dedicated private group like I’ve always done, but I may explore more interactions in the public room in the future. The discord will be used for private watch parties, music listen alongs and for discussing potential subjects on the podcast.
PODCASTS - As I’ve mentioned on some of the game streams, I intend to podcast more regularly in the upcoming future (ideally weekly potentially every other week). I will be rebranding the podcast feed back to The SuperJersh Show so that I can feel free to talk about whatever I want without algorithm limitations or fear of alienating listener growth.
Music and Movie talk will be the primary focus and the segments will continue their current naming structure (Music to My Ear and No Trailers Allowed). I will either take suggestions in the discord or let you all know ahead of time what album I will be listening to or what movie I will be watching so that you can participate in the podcast without worrying about spoilers. Also you should have time to listen for yourself or watch for yourself in case you want to email in before I record.
If there are enough emails I will have an email section and I may do game talk segments from time to time, it’s whatever I wanna do dammit hahaha. All will be time coded so you can listen to what you want to. This podcast will have no ads. This podcast will not ask for your money. You cannot get this podcast early. It will exist because I want an outlet to talk about things I like talking about. And that’s it. Listen or email if you want lol

YOUTUBE - I intend to upload the podcast to YouTube as well as iTunes and Spotify. I’m 99% sure it will be audio only even on YouTube because the point is to be a podcast, something to listen to you don’t need to watch. I also may transition all my live streams to YouTube away from Twitch but I will let you all know if that happens.
GAME STREAMS - People who tune into the game streams regularly can confirm this, I have not even really had time or energy to do that since I started this new job. When I am on I’m cranky and falling asleep several hours earlier than I used to. They will continue casually as they have been, but I am by no means trying to grow either my Twitch channel or my YouTube channel to be known as a game streamer. I just want to share my hobby with a community of friends who enjoys the live interaction.
This patreon would have never gotten this far without the support of so many lovely people at every level. Genuinely, sincerely, emphatically, thank you all for being here!! There will be a few more mix tape reactions and 1 more movie watch along released. From that point on please enjoy the hundreds of reaction videos that exist here and consider joining us in the discord where most of my creative output and discussion with the community will continue. I'm excited to see where the music, movie and game talk takes me in the new year and beyond. And maybe I’ll finally write a book too lol
