Hello, my darlings! I bring you the script preview for the upcoming Mermaid Princess audio šŸ§œā€ā™€ļø

The writing is still in process, actually! I admit I have had ermmm a bit of writer’s block lately 😭 But my creative juices appear to be flowing again 🤩 Along with that, the end of the month has gotten a little crazy ahhHHH I wish I could tell you guys just how insane the past week alone has been (mostly in a good way!!)

Originally wanted to have this out by this weekend, but at this rate I think it will be out by the middle of next week - next weekend at the VERY latest (but I am hoping to avoid that) Please forgive me haha I’m juggling so many things but I swear I’m doing my best šŸ™‡šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Anywho all that aside, enjoy the preview!

*woozy. She is just waking up after having sustained several injuries* Oww… oh, my head… *winces* I feel like I’ve fallen into a bed of sea urchins. Ow. What happened? *startled* Oh! A human! I didn’t… see you there. Um. Where am I, if you don’t mind my asking? The last thing I remember was traversing a bit too close to the shoreline, and then… well, that’s about it, really.

*pause* Oh! Me, trapped in a fisherman’s net? How clumsy of me, usually I’m much better about watching where I’m going, or at least taking note of impending peril. I suppose I’ve been traveling for some time and my head isn’t quite where it usually is. *slightly pained chuckle*

*longer pause* That does make sense… I suppose a net made for catching small fish wouldn’t be too equipped to hold a mermaid, would it? So… they lost hold of it. Explains why I feel a bit sore, getting all tangled up like that. I must have banged my head on the side of the boat somehow, too… *winces*

But overall I’m fine, I think. I vaguely remember thrashing around in the water… I really can’t recall much more, I think I was in a state of panic. But it could have been significantly worse. We are warned about the dangers of nets… so thank you. You haven’t mentioned it yet, but you saved me, didn’t you? I feel as though I’m starting to remember more bits and pieces… a glinting object sawing at the rope… hands reaching out for me… a concerned, wide-eyed face swimming in and out of my vision. Your face.

That’s why I’m here, in this… strange, water-holding container. What do you call this? A ttttub? How peculiar. Yes, well, I’m in your ā€œtubā€ (says this like tuh-ub) because you rescued me from that which spells certain doom for merfolk, and… *surprise as she looks down at her arms* …and you’ve even tended to my wounds. *pause* Do not discredit yourself. Mere scratches they very well may be, but regardless, you have exhibited an incredible amount of bravery and compassion. From what I understand, your kind do not often treat us with much respect. I, princess of Clan Lumen, am in your debt henceforth.

You are surprised. It’s all right, I will not fault you for not perceiving my status from the beginning. There were more pressing matters, and perhaps you humans are not used to identifying mermaid royalty. Have you heard of my clan, at least? We reside in the waters of the southernmost ocean. I believe your kind have named it Havensea? A little on the nose, I think. But yes, that is my home.

I’m awfully far from home, you say? You sound so incredulous. *laughs* Well, I ought to be. I’m currently on a pilgrimage. It is one I must take on my own, to prove to my people that I have earned the right to rule, and it has carried me far from familiar waters.
