Episode 9’s guest is Heather Langenkamp - actor, writer, producer, director, who famously defeated Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare On Elm Street.  Heather is the ‘dream guest’ for our show – with her lead role in Wes Craven’s A Nightmare On Elm Street and several of its sequels.  More recently, Heather can be seen in American Horror Story and Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club.

Heather Langenkamp has some strong, surprising views on horror films that you won’t want to miss.  She reveals a nightmare about Freddy’s tongue, and talks about how sexual content in horror scenes can affect the participants subconsciously.  Catherine concurs about hyper sexualised roles and how you don’t realise what you carry with you.  Heather finds watching horror movies very hard, and speculates that some taboos in horror films can actually break the bonds that hold society together.  She asks how James can process having to watch so many horror films. We find out why Heather can never take a relaxing bath, and how focusing on small things such as helps her block out the horrors of the real world.   And we touch on Heather’s upcoming movies, including Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation, The Life of Chuck.

For this week’s Side Barb, Barbara is conjured by a very special song, and we play a game where Heather has to escape a nightmare of the hosts’ imagining.
