For my VFX I make a lot of them inside After Effect but I can also make them inside Unreal Engine 4. But for me the best is to use both!
In this exemple I'm trying to recreate a sheikah spell we see in Botw and I really love the result. But for now this is still in After Effect. I'll import this in UE4 and create a particle system and make it realtime and dynamic. I'll show you the result during the week.
