Hi everyone. First of all, sorry for the slight radio silence. As you know (posted on here and patreon) the month of January was hectic due to me being in the middle of having to move from one apartment to another... That said I did get some work done as you seen with my port of RE2: ESCAPE, as well as streaming some development of Episode 3 for Containment.
Now, with that said, this post is ABOUT episode 3 of Containment. So, it's almost finished now, I've scrapped one area, but, in it's place, I've added another and am expanding on something (no spoilers yet). BUT. The problem is, RE1 on PC has very limited enemy slots. That's the reason I split the mod into episodes. For example, there are only 3 zombie types, one hunter type, one dog type etc. So this means, if the mod wasn't split into episodes, I could literally only have those 3 zombie models through the entire game, which, would be VERY limiting and really reduce my ability to add new content. Episode 3 already uses 3 zombie types, one dog type AND a hunter type enemy meaning that the last section of the game would recycle those enemy types and SERIOUSLY limit what I could do. So, with this in mind, and, also to free up space for the new rooms (im using almost every room slot available in EP3...) i am debating releasing episode 3 this friday...
This will then quickly be followed by 'The Final Chapter (episode 4). So the mod will essentially be made up of 5 episodes... the prologue, ep1, ep2, ep3 and the final chapter... as said, this will open up every enemy slot again so i can have 3 unique zombie types, another dog type, hunter type, boss, etc. What are your thoughts on this? Note that it isn't going to impact anything in terms of release time as if I was NOT doing this, it would still take the time to script the final sections, build all the new rooms and so on... Please, take time to talk with me about this as I take your thoughts into consideration very seriously.
