The king and his loyal squire

Many nobles at the castle are constantly trying to convince the king from venture into new lands by himself, any royal matter should be dealt with by his royal knights accompanying lesser nobles in his place. His stoic mindset rattles them, but wielding his maze keeps him more entertained, reliving old adventures accompanied by his very first Squire, back when he was a prince.
There's nothing like the intimacy that comes after a long day fighting side by side, hopefully, political matters with neighboring countries can be dealt with in a similar fashion~
