A Full Update On Where I've Been...Television?

In the beginning of 2021, I decided to switch up the content on my channel. Instead of posting monthly episodes of The Bobdunga Show, I decided to start up the lost media series titled Tales of The Lost. A docuseries totally produced by myself, where I explore the world of lost media in the world of geek culture and gaming. The first two docs I made were The Girl Games of Lost Media Part 1 and Part 2, and while they took months to make, as most of the time was spent searching for answers, reaching out to resources, etc, I was eventually able to make something that went over very well with my viewers, and I ended up successfully finding lost media for both.

It’s so scary to be taking so much time away from my channel because in the process, I feel like I get lost in the algorithm, part of me feels like my patrons feel cheated because content isn’t coming out as quickly as they’d like, etc. I just have a lot of guilt there but then I think about the time and effort that goes into these documentaries and I think “well maybe it will be worth it once that final product is out”. Since making my first two docs, a lot of really great opportunities have come from it.

I was featured on the Kinda Funny Games podcast, was in several news articles such as Input Magazine, The Verge and Kotaku, the experience put me into contact with a lot of new opportunities, one’s I didn’t even think would be possible. I wanted to keep this to myself until everything had solidified, but I have been given two opportunities as a result of the docs to pitch and create legitimate shows for networks. This is the bulk of what I have been doing when I was gone, along with me working on trying to make this third documentary a masterpiece. There’s been a few delays here and there that have been out of my hands, my life has been crazy but not in a bad way, I’m trying to save for my move. I’m just in a spot right now wherea lot of doors are open and I’m attempting to go through all of them at once.

In terms of the third doc, there has been a major breakthrough that’s made me have to go back into the script and rewrite a few things. But for this next documentary, I’m not leaving empty handed, more lost media has been found that’s never been seen before, and I only managed to get my hands on this tonight when I was ready to wrap up the doc empty handed. It’s kind of surreal, but I do need more time to wait and see what else this source has to offer. That being said, the feeling of not being able to post for almost 4 months has been a little bit horrifying, but I hope when I come back you’ll all still be here with open arms, ready to watch this new doc. It’s leaps and bounds better than the first two videos, and I hope you’re ready for it.

On top of all this, on Monday I start a new and amazing job, connected to gaming, with sources and people that want to help see my YouTube, producing and showrunning ideas come to life. Everything kind of perfectly fell into place as me and the people at the company share similar values and ideas, they allow me to have great pay with a flexible schedule, and they want to put me into contact with executives who can bring a lot of my creative ideas to streaming services.

Life has been going and going and going and I’m incredibly grateful for all of this, but I didn’t want to keep you guys in the dark thinking I was just sitting in the corner of a room picking my nose LMAO But yeah, that is the bulk of what I can share right now. I love you guys so much and thank ya’ll for all of the incredible support you’ve shown me over the years. I’m gonna make you guys proud and create so much damn content, and now that I have a job that can help me balance this, then it’s just the beginning of what’s to come.
