One of the ideas I’ve had that I’ve been meaning to draw is a ‘husband swap’—where two different species are sucking off each others’ partners. It seemed to fit in perfectly with this project. And in light of the poll I ran last week, it looks like nearly everyone who subs to me is fine with some straight or intersexed art too. So I’ll be including some more of that in this series as well. Anyway, here’s a couple of boys sucking off each others’ wives~
I’ve decided to call this series “Megafauna” because it’s a cool word that implies big animals but which you almost never hear it in a furry context. It also doesn’t limit things to African animals specifically, although they probably all will be just to keep it thematic.
For people who are interested in the technical aspects of art: something I don’t think I’ve ever done in any of my furry art is use a complimentary yellow/purple palette. I’ve been thinking about this for like years now. Yellow and purple can be a difficult color combination to work with. Often I find if I’m working with a strong purple, I tend to push the image to a purple/orange/green triadic color scheme because it’s easier to work with. Or if I’ve got a yellow character (or Pulsar—an extremely powerfully red character), I’ll push the palette to primary red/yellow/blue. (Incidentally, this is why Pulsar often has a yellow thong. If I’ve got Pulsar (red) and a sky (blue), the natural third color is yellow. So I’ll often make his thong or T-shirt or other elements in the pic yellow.) Anyway, I intentionally chose two animals that can fit into complimentary yellow and purple colors: cheetah and wildebeest. I’m really happy with how it turned out!
