There was no way Elizabeth was going to tell Holly everything, that she was going to give her that satisfaction... But there was plenty to choose from, and given the shift in her attitude after a single day, she knew she was going to have to confess at least a bit of it.
That, or she could fight through it, use her acting skills to pretend she was still the same confident, adult woman she'd been when they'd made the switch initially. She would have loved to do that, to have a couple hours of that to remind herself of who she was, to help her through the rest of her day.... Unfortunately, with the plug being held so snugly inside of her by her diaper, constantly making her aware of its presence, keeping her on her feet, scuffing them against the floor, staring down at them bashfully, she suspected it would take a far better actress than her to pull that off.
"Come on," Holly smirked, sitting down, leaning back. "I feel like this is quite the story..."
"I-It's not," Elizabeth shook her head. It wasn't... Not the version she was willing to tell the other girl, anyway. There was no way she was going to get into the whole thing, let her know about her history with Drew, about how she suspected he recognized her and was getting revenge, but didn't know for sure.
"Then why are you still in diapers?" Holly asked, leaning forward and giving Elizabeth's seat a swat. It had to be innocent - how could she know what was underneath it? - yet she managed to hit the top of the plug exactly, Elizabeth working hard to swallow a gasp, the toes of both shoes beginning to turn inwards towards one another before she could stop them. "Why haven't you escaped yet?"
Elizabeth felt the warmth of a blush washing over her as she shook her head, struggling to access her usual persona despite the events of the last twenty-four hours. "I-I was being nice," she insisted. "I wanted you to have one day of being a big girl again, at least."
Holly rolled her eyes, Elizabeth fidgeting to see how utterly unconvincing her performance was. "Sure," she said, grabbing Elizabeth by the wrists, pulling her over in front of the dressing room's old, beat-up couch, yanking open the snap-crotch of the shortalls with one smooth motion, exposing Elizabeth's soggy diaper.
"H-Hey!" Elizabeth whined, pouting while Holly gave the padding a poke, then a squeeze.
"Somebody's awfully soggy to just be doing me a favor," Holly teased.
"Well, it's not like I'm allowed to use the potty," Elizabeth complained, not noticing what word she'd chosen until it was already out, making her blush deeper at the childishness of it while she fumbled with the cloth hanging down between her legs.
"Really?" Holly raised an eyebrow, brushing Elizabeth's hands out of the way to snap the shortalls back up herself. "I'm sure Annika's a wonderful person, but just looking at her, and knowing the kind of people Mommy hires to babysit me, I suspect she isn't the most... clever... You couldn't talk your way into some potty training?"
"It's not her!" Elizabeth blurted out before she could help herself, desperate to clear her name, to ensure Holly didn't think she'd been outsmarted by that bimbo.
Of course, that left her with a bit of a dilemma when Holly giggled and asked, "Who, then?"
"Umm..." Elizabeth squirmed. "She, uh... invited her boyfriend over." She could leave it at that, she told herself. No need to say who it was, exactly. In fact, if she didn't, and Holly continued to push, that might indicate that Holly had contacted him, had set this all up somehow, confirm that he did, indeed, know who Elizabeth was. It was a good plan, one she was willing to pretend she'd intended from the start, even though she knew, deep down, she was making it up as she went along.
Holly's eyes widened. "Oh, wow... That's the worst! I'm sorry!"
Did she mean that? Elizabeth narrowed her eyes, examining the other girl more closely. Or was she doing some acting of her own to throw Elizabeth off the scent of her evil plan?
To make deciphering it more difficult, Holly shook her head. "Wait, what am I saying? I've had it happen to me plenty of times... You deserve to deal with it once. And it can be nice, in a way, to have your sitter distracted..."
"No, it isn't!" Elizabeth sulked. "They gave me an enema and then left me in my stupid bouncer!"
She wasn't sure why she'd felt the need to say it, other than to let Holly know she wasn't taking it easy, that she was having more than her share of struggles. As soon as she saw Holly's expression shift, however, she knew she'd made a mistake. "Oh, gosh!" Holly squealed. "I would have loved to see that!"
"N-No!" Elizabeth shook her head. "I-It wasn't... that long... I-I didn't..."
She squeaked as Holly gave her a yank, pulling her up, over her leg, still facing her. "Yes, you did," Holly read her like a book, Elizabeth's eyes widening as Holly gave her a bounce, the plug inside her pushing in a bit deeper, then sliding back out slightly, repeating as Holly continued to move her leg underneath the squirming girl straddling it. "You didn't pay attention, did you?"
Elizabeth was definitely having trouble paying attention now, her toes curling inside her Velcro sneakers as she fought to keep Holly from being able to see, on her face, what was happening inside of her, the way the bouncing was manipulating her plug, and, to her embarrassment, turning her on. "I-I don't..." she shook her head.
"I told you," Holly sighed playfully. "There are two times a day you have to mess your diapers, or else Mommy, or your sitter, will think there's something wrong, and help you out. I'm surprised she started with an enema, though... I would have expected a suppository, maybe. I bet that made your diaper nice and full, huh, while you were bobbing up and down, up and down..."
"Y-Yes!" Elizabeth heard herself moan before she could stop, head spinning in shame as she confessed the truth on accident, just wanting her little horsey ride to continue, no matter what.
Unfortunately, that was when the doorknob rattled, jolting both of them. Elizabeth scrambled off of Holly's leg as Holly stood up, hurrying over to unlock the door. Elizabeth stood by awkwardly, adjusting her shortalls, trying to catch her breath, as the stage manager poked his head in.
"Sorry," he told them. "Change of plans... They want you to run your number now."
"O-Oh." Holly sounded almost as unsure about it as Elizabeth felt. "Sure... Come on, Holly."
She took Holly by the hand, leading her back onto the stage, where Holly could see the rest of the cast waiting out in the audience, staring up at them, her diaper growing warmer at the thought of having to perform in front of them all after what had just happened a few moments ago, what had been cut short, left her so squirmy and desperate...
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Holly was not exactly thrilled at the prospect, either. It had been nice, feeling like she was the one in charge again. She'd hoped she'd get to experience that the whole time, but Kristi had ensured that wouldn't happen... Getting a glimpse of it had been wonderful, up until it was abruptly ended, and she was standing on stage, looking down at everyone else, tugging frantically at her skirt.
"Y-You want us to go now?" she asked uncertainly, realizing that Elizabeth was staying silent... As it should be, she supposed. If she was going to be the 'grown-up' between them, that extended beyond her getting to torment and tease Elizabeth.
"If you don't mind," the director told her. "We thought it might be a better use of everyone's time if we saw who needed the most work here so we could concentrate on them, since a lot of the numbers are from more recent shows, and they're still a bit more fresh in peoples' minds."
"R-Right," Holly nodded. Did she feel offended that her and Elizabeth were apparently one of the first that people thought of when it came to which songs needed more work? Perhaps, but, as she reminded herself, neither she nor Elizabeth had ever actually done it in the first place. And she knew she hadn't rehearsed it on her own; from the sound of things, Elizabeth hadn't either.
She only wished she could be doing it in some other outfit, in a skirt that would hide what was underneath a little better. The stage lights were on, nice and bright, probably making it that much easier for everyone out in the audience to tell there was some extra bulk beneath her panties, and to spot the pink peeking out around those panties. She hadn't even had time to work on it in the dressing room, to watch herself in the mirror to get an idea of how bad it was going to be!
The music started, and panic set in. She barely paid any attention to what Elizabeth was doing, beside her on the stage, as she stumbled around, hands clinging to the fabric of her skirt, mortified to move too quickly, or too much, forgetting her words, and her steps, and everything. At the very least, the few glances she got of her companion made it seem she wasn't doing any better, standing almost perfectly still, face bright red.
There was the tiniest amount of scattered applause from a few of their castmates, and, notably, none from the director, who pursed her lips, nodded. "Okay, then," she said. "Come out and sit down, please."
Holly obediently complied, Elizabeth following slowly after her, pausing for a moment or two too long before lowering herself gingerly onto the chair, nibbling on her bottom lip as she squirmed there.
Elizabeth was blushing nearly as much as Holly, and, she assumed, for the same reason. She wanted to speak up, to point out that they'd had to go on a lot sooner than they'd anticipated, but mostly, she felt like a naughty little girl, having been caught without doing her homework, called out in front of the whole class to do a presentation she wasn't prepared for.
She had trouble paying attention to the other acts, despite a part of her being desperate to do so, to convince herself they were just as bad as she and Elizabeth had been. Even that made her feel guilty, though, rooting for them to fail... And it didn't work out, anyway. All of them seemed to be doing so much better...
Then again, they really ought to. She suspected none of them were dealing with the same things she was, or that Elizabeth had told her she was. Chances were, that was only the beginning for Elizabeth, too. If that was what she was willing to talk about, it was hard to tell what else had gone on in the privacy of Holly's nursery.
"All right," the director announced, once she'd seen all she needed to. "There's a lot of great stuff here, and some that needs a bit of... polishing. Just as a reminder, we have a limited amount of time to put this all together, so any time you can dedicate to it outside of rehearsals will be a huge benefit. Most of you are free to go early, if you like, but I want to work with Blake, Gayle, Jordan, Elizabeth, and Holly for the rest of our scheduled time."
Holly blushed, wriggling down in her seat. She supposed it really wasn't a big shock to anyone who had been watching, but it did still feel like being called out, scolded. She wasn't certain if it was a good thing or bad that the others went again before her and Elizabeth, besides it getting them out of the theater so there were fewer people to stare at them as they made another attempt.
That did help quite a bit; Holly didn't want the director or stage manager to see a hint of her Pull-Ups, or the aftermath of her spanking, but even if they did, and said something, it would be more private, anyway. And Elizabeth seemed to have her own concerns distracting her, though she did look a little less worked up than she had been before.
"Better," the director commented when they were done. "And I know this is difficult for you two, since you haven't actually done it before."
"We'll get it!" Holly promised, a sensation of anxiety spreading through her brain at the way the director was talking, worried she was about to cut them from the show or something. She wasn't sure how that would affect her agreement with Elizabeth, but she didn't like it. If nothing else, rehearsals were a good time to check in, to see how the girl was doing, get an idea if she should be expecting her to show up at the hotel...
"I know," the director assured her. "If the two of you have time to get together on your own, though, I really think that would help." Holly and Elizabeth exchanged an embarrassed look. "I want to have you involved, but we can only dedicate so much time to each act..."
"I-I understand," Holly nodded, feeling responsible. She was supposed to be the older of the two... And, hard as it was to remember sometimes, she truly was, wasn't just pretending for the duration of their arrangement, even if that was how it felt.
"Please, don't cut us," Elizabeth begged. Holly was shocked at how desperate she sounded... Then again, it did make sense she'd want some break from her time in the nursery, some excuse to get away from all that for a couple hours... "We'll do better!"
"I'm not trying to threaten you, or scare you," the director said, looking a bit guilty at their reactions. "For the sake of the show..."
"We understand," Holly interrupted, confident in speaking for her partner as well this time.
"I wish I could offer to let you into the theater early so you could use it," the director shrugged, "but there are so many other things going on... I know Elizabeth is only in town temporarily, so do you have a good space to work on it, Holly?"
Holly nearly caught herself answering before thinking, having to nudge Elizabeth to remind her that the woman was addressing her. "O-Oh," she blinked, glancing over at Holly. "I-I'm not..."
Holly, honestly, didn't know if she wanted that, either. It would be fun, getting to see Elizabeth being cared for in her nursery first-hand... At the same time, it seemed like quite a risk, going back there herself. It didn't look like she was capable of it right now, in this moment, but Elizabeth could find some way to take advantage of that to switch back. Or what if Annika simply recognized her from photos, realized the deception on her own? Seeing the sitter in passing was one thing; tempting fate by spending an extended amount of time at the house, possibly in the nursery, was another.
On the other hand, she was glad the director had let her off the hook without forcing her to think up an excuse. Having Kristi barge in on them would perhaps be worse, in a way, if for no other reason than it revealing to Elizabeth that things were not going nearly as well for Holly as she wanted her to believe.
"Obviously you don't have to," the director told them. "Elizabeth is already dedicating a lot of her limited time here to rehearsing, and I'm grateful for that, but..."
"I-I bet we could figure it out," Elizabeth spoke up, nodding. "Now that I think about it a little more, I do think it would be a wonderful idea..."
Holly cringed, almost able to see the gears turning in Elizabeth's head as the girl worked through the humiliation of letting Holly see her in the nursery to the possibilities that could raise for her.
"I-I do only have so much time," Holly pointed out, doubling down on what the director had said. "So I'll try, but, you know..."
"That's all I ask," the director smiled.
"I'll talk to my... roommate..." Elizabeth chose the word carefully, though both she and Holly knew she was actually referring to her babysitter. "We'll find something that works."
"Wonderful!" the director declared.
"Yeah," Holly nodded. "Great..."
Annika was already waiting for them in the lobby, beaming at the sight of Elizabeth, toddling obediently over to her to give her a hug. "Did you have fun?" she asked.
Elizabeth grinned. "Yeah, we did," she said, wriggling free and returning to Holly's side, grabbing her hand as she attempted to slip out the front door. "Do you think we could have a playdate sometime?"
Annika chuckled while Holly squirmed, trying to break out of Elizabeth's grip without making it obvious that was what she was doing. "A playdate, huh? I'd have to ask your Mommy about that, sweetie. I don't know if..."
"It's for the show!" Elizabeth pouted. "I want it to be as good as possible for Mommy if she makes it back in time to see it!"
"Oh, I see," Annika smiled, giving Holly a conspiratorial wink. "So it's just about working on the play, not actually playing?"
Elizabeth shrugged. "I mean... We might play some, too, if we get done in time for that..."
"Your friend here has a lot of big girl things to do, sweetie," Annika told her. "Not everyone can spend all day playing."
It would be simple to agree, to use the opportunity to get out of it... Holly did want to make sure they didn't get kicked out of the show, however, and, if she was being honest, there was a part of her that wondered if this had all been a mistake, if perhaps they ought to go ahead and switch back, if she should accept her punishment now, and hope it was lesser than it would be if they kept this up, and lesser than whatever Kristi had in mind for her. She hadn't had the chance, or courage, to bring it up earlier, certain Elizabeth would know something was up if she suggested it so soon, and not positive it was what she wanted anyway.
Maybe this was all a sign that that part of her was right, that it was time to go back to the nursery already. Or maybe seeing Elizabeth fully being treated like a toddler would give her strength, and Annika was really as dim as she seemed, and wouldn't put it together that Holly looked so similar to her charge, and all the pictures around the house...
Either way, she felt like she had to give it a shot, especially once the director stepped out into the lobby, making her too self-conscious to turn down a chance to 'rehearse' in front of her. "I think I could find some time," she said. "As long as you don't mind me coming over to visit."
"I'll send a text and make sure it's all right," Annika told her, "but as far as I'm concerned, you're welcome to come over if you want."
Was that what she wanted? She still wasn't certain, but she smiled regardless, nodded. "Okay," she heard herself speak, hardly able to believe what she was doing. "Sounds great."
