"What about you?" Felicity asked, peering over at Kaydence. "I mean, I know your grades are usually better than mine anyway..."
"Oh, I don't know about that," Kay waved her off, though there was little point for modesty; they roomed together, and it was hardly a rare sight to see the other girl moping, worrying she was going to get kicked out of school... Kaydence had told her plenty of times that her grades weren't that bad, and, having been shown plenty of them, she definitely didn't think the girl was in any danger of that... She did know that she, personally, would be more worried about what her parents would say about them if they found out.
"Please," Savannah rolled her eyes. "It's not like it's hard to do better than her."
"Hey!" Felicity glared at her, then sheepishly whispered, "Sorry," to the air as Kay gave her a pointed glare to remind her they were in the library.
"What? It's not!" Savannah shrugged, before copying Felicity for a moment. "Sorry," she said as well. "That was mean, wasn't it?" She was doing a little better at realizing that... At least with them, although Kay couldn't say how she was with anyone else. Apparently their time in diapers together had helped with that... If not something more. "But you're right, my grade on that last project was quite a bit higher than what I usually get, too."
"Well?" Felicity turned back towards Kaydence expectantly, Savannah joining her this time.
Kay opened up her bag silently, pulling out the paper, the same one that had brought her to this library to begin with, setting it on the table between them.
"No way!" Felicity blurted out, having to issue another blanket apology to the area around them. "That's so good!"
Even Savannah looked impressed. "Is that better than usual?"
"Yeah, definitely," Kay was eager to clarify. "I-I do all right normally, but I'm not a genius or anything..."
"That's weird, right?" Felicity asked. "I mean, I barely even remember what I wrote, and that's the highest grade I've gotten in... well... anything."
"It is an odd coincidence that we all did so well on what we were working on when... You know." She blushed, not wanting to say it, even though, if there was one place she should feel safe discussing it, it was here, where it had all started.
As if speaking of that had summoned her, Ms. Anne stepped around the corner from one of the shelves, smiling gently at them. "Hello, girls," she greeted them. "How nice to see you all here together." She swooped in, patting Felicity on the head, while the other two looked at each one another uncertainly, not knowing if the librarian had been spying on them or not. "Well, look at that," she commented, glancing down at Kaydence's paper on the table. "Congratulations, dear."
"Th-Thanks," Kay replied. "Actually..."
Thankfully, Felicity spoke up; Kay wasn't sure where she was going with that, what she was going to say, what she was even thinking, really... Or, rather, she didn't want to admit it, because what was bubbling up in her mind sounded so insane that there was no way it could be true. Felicity, apparently, had no compunction about laying it all out there. "We all got good grades, after our last visit here."
"You did, huh?" Ms. Anne smiled down at her, eyes twinkling. "I guess your time at the library did you some good, huh?"
Felicity nodded. "It really did," she told the woman. "Is there any way we could get some more... good?" She frowned, clearly unhappy with the way it had come out, but barreling ahead regardless. "I know I could use all the help I can get, anyway."
"Well," Ms. Anne said, "our library does offer actual help with studying, if you're interested."
"Is it... similar to story-time?" Felicity asked, squirming in her seat, blushing.
"She's probably not going to read you a story," Ms. Anne replied with a smirk, none of them believing that was what Felicity was referring to, although Kay wasn't certain if her friend was more interested in whether their grades would continue to improve, or whether they'd be diapered while it happened. "She'd be happy to help you however she can, though."
"Okay," Felicity nodded eagerly, before looking around at the other two. "Right? We should give it a try..."
Kaydence turned towards Savannah, who shrugged. "I wouldn't mind my grades being more like that normally," she admitted. "Maybe you don't need the help..."
"Mine aren't that good!" Kaydence insisted again. "Besides... I dragged you both here in the first place, didn't I?"
"Sounds like a consensus to me," the librarian beamed. "Come along, then." She held out her hands, Felicity hopping up and taking one, while Kay and Savannah took a little more time standing up, glancing at one another. Unsurprisingly, Kaydence was the one who wound up holding the woman's other hand, Savannah trailing behind as they were all led through the stacks, to a door marked 'Study Room,' near the entrance.
Kay looked at Felicity and Savannah, wondering if they'd noticed that door there before; she certainly hadn't, as strange as that was, since it was pretty near to the circulation desk, where they'd passed by every time they'd come in. Perhaps, Kay reasoned, she'd overlooked it because the curtain over the window in the door was drawn, making it impossible to see inside, so she may have assumed that, whatever it was, it was closed.
When Ms. Anne let go of Kaydence's hand to open up the door, however, there was no doubt that it was, indeed, open for business, the room inside bright and cheerful, covered with cartoony posters detailing the alphabet, and the first ten numbers, and the days of the week...
"New students?" the woman waiting inside asked, clapping her hands when Ms. Anne nodded. "How lovely! Hello, little dears! My name is Ms. Sophia!"
"Hi!" Felicity waved, Ms. Sophia waving back pleasantly.
"Go on," Ms. Anne let go of the two she was leading, sending them into the room with pats to their bottoms. "Ms. Sophia will take very good care of you."
"I-I don't think..." Savannah attempted to protest, looking around at the room with its childish decorations, nose crinkled... She did step inside, though, as Ms. Anne started to slowly close the door, giving her plenty of time to scurry in to join her friends. "We don't really need help with any of this," she gestured to the posters. "Well... Most of us don't, anyway."
"Hey!" Felicity stomped her foot, seeing that the comment was aimed at her. "I know my ABCs!"
"Do you?" Ms. Sophia chuckled. "Why don't you show us?"
"Huh?" Felicity blinked.
"Recite your alphabet for us," Ms. Sophia told her.
"Uh... Okay..." Felicity blushed, shifting in place as she was put on the spot. "A... B... C..."
As she continued, Ms. Sophia nodded her head with each passing letter, bustling over to the drawers on one side of the room, gathering supplies out of them. "Very good!" she declared when Felicity was finished, timing it so that she arrived at her desk at the front of the room right on time to drop everything off there and clap, Kaydence feeling the need to join in, despite how simple the task had been.
"What are those for?" Savannah demanded, her attention on the items on Ms. Sophia's desk. Kay turned her head to look as well, cheeks darkening at what she saw there, although, she supposed, it was hardly a surprise, given what had happened the last couple times she'd been to the library.
"We do things differently here than in the story-time area," Ms. Sophia said. In a way, Kay thought to herself, it made sense... Story-time was for little kids, and this, apparently, was for children who were a little older... Probably old enough not to need what she saw waiting on the desk, however.
"We don't need..." Savannah started, pausing and rolling her eyes when she saw that Felicity had already obediently stepped up to the desk, peering behind herself with a look of slight shock that the other two hadn't lined up behind her.
"Good girl!" Ms. Sophia praised Felicity. "You get a gold star already!" Felicity beamed, not caring in the slightest - or, perhaps, even more happy about the fact - that she was being praised for accepting the Pull-Up that the woman slid out of the package, stepping around to kneel in front of Felicity. "Would you like some help, little one?" Felicity nodded, letting Ms. Sophia reach under her skirt, sliding her panties down and off her feet before the woman held open the training pants in front of her for her to step in.
"W-We don't need those!" Savannah sputtered, but Felicity's easy acceptance of them had clearly shaken her confidence in the statement... That, or she was remembering how much fun she'd had at story-time, and didn't want to miss out. "Right?" she turned to Kay for support.
"I-It's the rules?" Kaydence asked Ms. Sophia, watching as the Pull-Ups snapped into place around Felicity's waist.
"It is," Ms. Sophia smiled. "If you want to be in my study group, I have to be certain you don't have any accidents."
"I won't!" Savannah huffed, but if she was expecting Kay to support her in her protest, she was disappointed, the other girl stepping up beside her roommate, already unbuttoning her shorts. "Fine!" Savannah sighed loudly, making sure they all knew she was doing this only because she had to... Although, of course, the door was right behind her, and she didn't so much as try to open it up and leave.
"Very good," Ms. Sophia declared, once they were all in their Pull-Ups. "Now, if you'd all sit down..."
They all sat around one of the small tables in front of her desk, while she set a worksheet in front of each of them. "I know you know your alphabet," she smiled at Felicity, "but why don't we make sure your friends do as well? And that you all know how to write it, as well as say it."
Savannah and Key shared a glance, not knowing what good this was going to do them, how it would help at all... Felicity had already grabbed a crayon from the cup in the middle of the table, was giggling and sticking her tongue out as she insisted, "I'm gonna be done first!"
"This isn't a race," Ms. Sophia told her, bemused. "But she's right... If you two don't get started, she's definitely going to beat you."
Kaydence and Savannah gave each other one more look, then shrugged. They were already here, after all, had already accepted their training pants... Why not go all in?
