'Found this,' Khloe typed, as if she had just stumbled across it, and not ordered it specifically, and been waiting with bated breath for it to finally arrive. She'd let out a little squeal in the middle of the office when she'd gotten the notification on her phone that the package had been delivered, dribbling slightly into her ever-present diaper, cheeks turning red as she slunk back to her desk.

She'd hardly been able to wait until she got home, squirming constantly in her chair, feeling the padding of her diaper growing gradually wetter and wetter, half considering claiming she was feeling sick and taking a half day. Finally, when her shift was over, she practically ran for the door, driving home to snatch the box up off of the porch and take it inside, hands shaking as she sliced open the tape, pulling out the perfect, lacy, frilly, babyish bonnet.

"Oh, my God," she giggled, examining the selfie she'd snapped again as she attached it to her text message. She was focusing on her head, so that her girlfriend, Cathy, could see the bonnet, and her diaper wasn't visible at all, but, while she was wearing the former, there was really no doubt she had the latter on as well. Nobody who wore that kind of headwear was mature enough to be without padding of some sort.

She'd also changed from her boring grown-up clothes to one of the now many babydoll dresses Cathy had bought for her, ever since their relationship had gone through its shift. Cathy had a bladder problem, and she needed diapers, but she'd started putting Khloe into them as well, for revenge for the other girl teasing her about them... And they'd both realized they liked things better that way. Now they were both in them full-time, Cathy in more boring, medical diapers, and Khloe in bigger, puffier, more infantile ones, very clearly the baby between the two of them.

There was no way Cathy wouldn't get the hint this time. Khloe had been doing her best, showing Cathy pictures of babies and mommies and cooing over how cute they were, pretending, when Cathy asked what they should do for their friends' Halloween party this year, that she had no idea, wanting Cathy to be the one to suggest it... She'd even said a few times, when Cathy got home from work, still in her business clothes, while Khloe was almost always dressed up like a toddler, how cute they were, how much like one of those pictures they looked...

The bonnet was the last piece that Khloe needed for her costume. It was also, really, the only piece she'd needed, as everything else, she already owned, and wore on a regular basis. She could have gone without it, but she felt that it would truly sell her as a toddler, and make everyone at the party coo over her, and pinch her cheeks, and... Well, who knew?

Their friends probably knew about her diapers, and Cathy's, even if it was something they didn't really discuss with them. With both of them constantly padded, however, it seemed unlikely they wouldn't have noticed, and there had definitely been a few slip-ups, especially when they'd both been getting used to them, or when they'd been drinking. They didn't know about the way Khloe dressed at home, though, or about the baby bottle she planned to carry around, that Cathy made her use at home sometimes, to keep from spilling things on her pretty baby clothes, when she was being extra clumsy... Or about the bonnet. They might know she wore diapers regularly, but there would be no way they couldn't figure out her costume, and see that, this time, they were meant to see them.

All she had to do was get Cathy to go along with her. They could both be babies, she supposed, but, somehow, that didn't feel as exciting to her... It wasn't necessarily that she was flaunting their real relationship to their friends; it wasn't entirely NOT about that, on the other hand. They didn't have to know all the details, yet it was thrilling, in a way, to know that they'd be acting out the roles they normally fell into anyway, and everyone would, most likely, be oblivious that it was anything more than a costume, one perhaps poking a bit of fun at their open secret.

Her phone chimed, and she excitedly tapped on the notification telling her that Cathy had replied, her face falling when she saw what it said. 'Very cute,' Cathy had written. 'Just what your wardrobe needed.'

That might be true, and Khloe could very well see herself wearing it around the house when she was feeling extra little... But it still wasn't the response she'd been looking for.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Khloe gulped, squirming as she looked at herself in the mirror of the bathroom she went into to change her diapers at work, the sight that greeted her in the reflection both familiar and terrifying to see here, of all places.

She'd brought it all with her, of course, had spent the whole day at work debating whether she was going to go through with it or not... And now, here she was, having settled on yes and come in here to change, exchanging her usual work clothes for one of her babydoll dresses, one with a skirt that ended halfway down the length of her diaper, booties, her bottle, and the bonnet. She'd even found a yellow diaper, to match the rest of her outfit, and already, she could feel it dampening from the rush of what she was doing, and the anxiety she was feeling over it.

She snapped a picture, sending it to Cathy with the caption, 'How do you like my costume, Mommy?' Surely that would do it... Surely, she'd get that hint. How much more plain could she be?!

She was halfway tempted to stop it there, to change back into her normal clothes, but there was another part of her that really wanted to step out of the bathroom, to let everyone in the office see her true self, in the guise of a costume... And it would be a good test run for their friends' party, which was what she really cared about. She took a deep breath, adjusted her skirt, and took the plunge.

It was exhilarating, toddling around, her diapers on nearly full display, having everyone tell her how cute she looked, complimenting how great her outfit was, telling her how brave she was to wear it. "Oh, they're just for show," she chuckled more than once, lifting up her skirt to showcase the entire diaper, praying nobody would be able to tell they were a little soggy.

That 'commitment' to her 'costume' was probably what earned her first place in the costume contest, something she proudly declared to Cathy when she got home. "I guess I did pretty well," she said with false modesty. "Maybe I should wear it to the party..."

"Hmm," Cathy nodded.

Khloe pouted at the less-than-enthusiastic response. "But then, what would you be?" she pushed, stroking her chin, as if she didn't already have it all planned out.

"I guess I could be like you and not wear a costume," Cathy teased.

Khloe blinked, tilted her head. "Huh? No, I am! See?" She showed off the little trophy she'd gotten again.

"Khloe, you wear that stuff all the time, except for the bonnet. That doesn't count." Khloe sulked. "That doesn't mean you aren't adorable, but it isn't exactly a costume."

Was that why she'd been so resistant to Khloe's hints? Had this whole enterprise been doomed from the start? It was definitely beginning to look that way... Khloe tried to think of a defense, a way around Cathy's argument, but nothing came to mind, and Khloe couldn't help wondering if she'd wasted all that time after all...

And then Halloween came, and Khloe hadn't come up with any other ideas. She didn't particularly want to, of course, which likely didn't help her creativity any, but Cathy also didn't say anything, didn't offer any suggestions. Khloe had no idea what they were going to do for the party.

Until Cathy received a box of her own in the mail. "Oh, good," she said as she brought it inside, giving a wave to the mailman as he walked back to his truck. "I was beginning to think this wasn't going to get here on time."

"What is it, Mommy?" Khloe asked curiously, padding up in her booties.

"Well, sweetie," Cathy told her, carrying the box to the kitchen so she could grab a knife to slice the tape open with. "I love your idea of going as mommy and baby."

"You do?!" Khloe's eyes widened. Why hadn't she said anything before now, then?!

"I do," Cathy chuckled. "But, like I said, your other 'costume' was barely even a costume... So I thought you could go in another direction." She opened up the box, pulling out something that made Khloe's cheeks burn.

"M-Mommy, that's for babies," she squirmed.

"Exactly," she smiled, "that's what you are, isn't it? So going as a baby isn't a costume... Going as a baby dressed up in a Halloween costume, though? That does. It was hard to find one that looked like it would fit, but I think this one ought to. We'd better go try it on, just in case."

It was an actual child's pumpkin costume, a puffy, orange bodysuit with the face of a jack-o-lantern on the front in black felt, with a matching hat with a stem and leaves, and green tights. Despite it technically keeping her diapers completely covered, simply looking at it made her feel more babyish than any of her usual outfits.

And that was before Cathy changed her diaper, slipping a pair of booster pads, the ones they both used at night normally anyway, into the fresh one. "We have to make it nice and big," she commented. "Naturally, people would think anyone in a costume like this would be in diapers, so we have to make sure they see... Actually..." She pulled out a second diaper. "That picture of you at your office party made me realize that one diaper just might not be enough... You need to have a nice, big waddle so nobody will notice Mommy's diaper in comparison."

She certainly had that, with Khloe barely able to walk at all without clinging to Cathy's hand. "So sweet!" Cathy gushed. "You're going to get so much candy when we go trick or treating!"

"T-Trick or treating?" Khloe gasped, wiggling in place, staring up at Cathy.

"Oh, yes," Cathy patted her on the head. "Seeing how cute you are like this, how could I resist?"

The overflowing candy bucket in the back seat of their car had Khloe feeling quite embarrassed, before they'd even got to the party, reminding her of how many people had seen her this way, told her that she was precious, given her an extra piece or two of candy with a wink... It all left her so flustered, she couldn't protest that Cathy was doing the very thing she'd said she didn't want Khloe to do, and just wearing her regular clothes as a costume. It was definitely working, though, with everyone assuming she was Khloe's mommy, complimenting her on what a sweet baby girl she had.

And it only continued when they got to the party. Everyone wanted to give Khloe's hugely padded posterior a pat, teasing her when she went to get a drink, saying, "We don't have any milk, sorry," or, "Are you sure you're old enough for this, sweetie?" And, of course, all the drinks had to go into her bottle, since anyone that thickly diapered couldn't be trusted with a regular cup.

But, to be fair, this was exactly what Khloe had wanted, had been hoping for in the first place. She liked being teased about her diapers even more than she had liked teasing Cathy about hers, once upon a time, and that trick or treating excursion had gotten her into the perfect, babyish headspace to be all the more receptive to it all as she toddled around the party, glued to her mommy's side - since she was too clumsy after a drink or two to walk in her bulky diaper on her own - sipping at her bottle, having the best Halloween of her life.
