'It's never going to work,' Danielle told herself glumly. Vivi's daycare schedule was just too erratic for her plan, as brilliant as she'd thought it was, to come to fruition. Or... Well, perhaps Vivien was right, and Dani was the only baby here.

It didn't seem that way, watching Vivi sitting, legs splayed, giving Dani a perfect view up the skirt of her dress to the padding underneath, playing with stuffed animals without a care in the world. She looked - to Danielle's eyes, anyway - just as infantile as she did, like she belonged here every bit as much. And Dani had gotten her to drop some classes, so it was obvious she enjoyed this, to one degree or another... But maybe it simply wasn't enough to make her fall to the level Dani had.

Should she stop trying? It would be such a shame, after she'd put so much work into this... Plus, it wasn't as if continuing it would make any difference to her, personally, unless Vivi somehow noticed her drinks were tasting normal again at daycare, and made the jump to connect that to Dani. She'd have to forge another note, sneak it in, hope that Miss Katie didn't ask any questions to Vivi about why her mother was so indecisive about the amount of fiber she needed to have added to her diet...

There was no harm in keeping that going, except... Dani was starting to worry that she'd been wrong to do this in the first place. It was impressive, in a way, that Vivi had held out this long. Maybe, even beyond revenge for that stupid thing Danielle had done to her when they were kids, Vivien was right, and she didn't belong in daycare the way Dani did. Maybe Dani was a baby, and Vivi wasn't, and nothing she could plot would change that.

It was a comfort to know that Miss Katie didn't see things that way, however. She didn't give a second thought to walking up, kneeling beside the pre-occupied Vivi, and lifting her skirt. She knew there was no point asking the girl, that Vivien had no qualms with fibbing about the state of her diaper. She might as well be a toddler who was too oblivious to know whether she needed a change or not...

"I don't know why I bothered to check," she teased, giving Vivi a tickle, the girl unable to stop herself from giggling. "You're always soggy, aren't you?"

"No!" Vivi whined, her attitude rapidly shifting, turning defensive.

"Oh, it's okay," Miss Katie told her. "Nobody is mad, Vivi..."

Vivien glowered. "Why not?" she sulked. "I'm s'posed to be getting potty trained, and nobody is even trying!"

"Someone's grumpy," Miss Katie gave Dani a knowing look. "That 'nobody' includes you, young lady," she reminded the girl, Vivi immediately hanging her head, realizing she'd made a mistake. "You're the most important part of that process... Your Mommy and Daddy and everyone here can do our best, but if you aren't making an effort, there isn't much we can do. And that's fine! If you aren't ready, you aren't ready... Don't go blaming it on everybody else, though."

Vivien squirmed. "Y-Yes, ma'am," she mumbled. "Sorry..."

Miss Katie hugged her. "It's okay," she cooed. "You're just a little cranky. I think you might need to go down for your nap a bit early today."

"Nooo!" Vivi groaned as Miss Katie stood up, taking her by the hand to lead her to the changing tables. "Miss Katie, I'm not sleepy!"

"I've never heard that one before," Miss Katie chuckled. "Don't worry, you'll feel better after your nap. Sorry I'm stealing your playmate, Dani. You might as well come get a fresh diaper, too, I'm sure you need it."

Dani did blush slightly; by this point, though, it was hard to get too embarrassed by it, not like Vivi had. And Miss Katie was definitely right she noted, wiggling her bottom before climbing to her feet, taking Miss Katie's other hand.

"She has to take an early nap, too, right?" Vivi asked as she toddled beside the caretaker. "Right?"

Miss Katie didn't answer, except to park Vivi beside the changing table, helping Dani up onto it first, wiping her off, powdering her, taping her into a fresh diaper, then sending her back to play some more with a pat on the bottom. "No!" Vivi stomped her foot. "She should have to nap now, too!"

"Vivi," Miss Katie said sternly, "you know better than to throw tantrums... Would you rather go to the corner before naptime?"

Vivien's demeanor changed in a flash, her head shaking meekly. "N-No, ma'am." She'd been in time-out enough to know she wanted to avoid it, even if it meant immediately backing down like a scared little baby.

"Wow," Dani heard Miss Katie comment as she toddled away, "I think you might be wetter than Dani for once."

"No, I'm not!" Vivi protested, her words muffled, her thumb no doubt planted firmly in her mouth.

It was things like that, Dani thought to herself, that kept her going, that had brought her to this point. After witnessing that display, there was question of whether Vivi belonged in daycare with her... No matter how long she resisted taking that last step. At this point, it was inevitable... Dani just needed to find another way to speed it up.

Should she write a note after all, this one telling Miss Katie to up the dosage of fiber? Or would that run the risk of Vivi saying something. She appeared to be used to the amount she was getting now, but Dani remembered that pause the first time she'd gotten her sippy cup after the note... If she thought things were off like that again, she might not accept it this time around.

What else was there? She couldn't think of a way to have suppositories or enemas used on Vivi without her knowing, and being able to blame her subsequent accidents on them. Maybe she could get some fiber of her own and add it to Vivien's drinks when they were home, but... How was she going to get her hands on that? And was it worth the risk of getting caught and tipping her hand?

There had to be something else... She thought about it for the rest of the day, and as she lay restlessly in her bed. Inspiration didn't strike her this time, like it had in the past... She knew there had to be a solution, but she was coming up empty on what it could possibly be.

She noticed right away when Vivien woke her up that the babysitter was dressed for daycare, not college. "You look cute," she commented sleepily.

"Shut up," Vivi glared at her. "I-I just wanted an extra day off, okay?"

"Okay," Dani nodded, but she had a feeling Vivi's obvious discomfort was coming from more than her self-consciousness over choosing to spend a day off in daycare, of all places. There was definitely more to this... She knew better than to push too hard this early in the morning, however.

Dani, to her surprise, was not the one who wound up pushing... Vivi seemed extra wiggly that morning, and dropping Tessa off at her school. Dani caught her staring at a gas station as she sat at a stoplight, lost in some sort of internal debate until the car behind them honked, alerting her that the light had changed to green a while ago, and making her drive straight, ignoring the station.

She was definitely regretting it by the time they parked at the daycare. "Come on," she groaned, scrambling to turn off the car, get her seatbelt off. "Hurry up and get out so we can..." She fell silent, squirming and popping her thumb desperately into her mouth. This was it, Dani realized with delight. She knew all these signs very well, and what they meant. Vivien was moments away from pooping her pants... If she hadn't already started.

Dani fumbled with her seatbelt, clumsily missing the button with her thumb once, twice, three times. "Sorry," she shrugged innocently. "I think it's stuck."

"Dani!" Vivi stomped her foot, squirming frantically before bending over Dani, doing it herself, her Pull-Up clad bottom sticking out. Danielle was very tempted to reach over, give it a pat, see if anything had happened yet, but she resisted the urge. "There's nothing wrong with it," Vivi clicked the button, the seatbelt popping loose. "Dumb baby." She grabbed Dani by the hand, yanking her out of the car, almost forgetting to close the door behind them as she rushed towards the daycare's entrance.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" Dani asked innocently, walking as slowly as she could without risking Vivi pulling her arm out of its socket. "It's a nice day out, and..."

"Dani, hurry!" Vivi insisted, her words more of an immature whine than a command. It wouldn't have mattered either way, however, as she made it only a few more steps, in much less time than it could have ever taken her to reach the front door, much less the potties, before she froze, her grip on Dani's hand tightening. "N-No," she whimpered, thumb trailing back up to her mouth, mumbling something that sounded very much like, "Not again," once it was in place, and her knees were beginning to bend...

She would have thought it would be hard to disguise her shock, but when it had taken this long, and she'd almost convinced herself it wouldn't happen, Dani had no trouble with it at all. "Vivi!" she exclaimed. "What are you doing?"

"N-Nothin'..." Vivi grunted.

They both knew that wasn't true. Dani extracted her hand from Vivi's sweaty grip, giving the seat of her training pants a poke through her skirt, feeling a mushy mass growing inside. "That's nothing?" she asked, feeling, for the first time in quite a while, like she was the grown-up, despite the damp diaper she was wearing.

"Y-Yes?" Vivi whimpered, staring up at her, her squatting position negating her height advantage, making her look so small and pitiful.

"And what did you mean 'not again'?" Dani decided to try, getting rewarded with a blush that managed to outshine the red already on the girl's cheeks. "Is this not the first time you've had a messy accident?" Vivien stayed silent, but that was answer enough. Dani couldn't believe how close she'd gotten to giving up when, apparently, her plan had already worked, at least once.

When, finally, she was finished, Vivien quietly said, "I-I think we should go home so I can change, a-and..."

"No," Dani took her by the hand again. "We're going in."

Vivi didn't resist, didn't try to remind Dani that she was in charge... All she could apparently think to do in the moment was pout, "B-But everyone will see..."

"Yes," Dani nodded, smiling in triumph, Vivi sucking her thumb and waddling along beside her in her full pants, "they will."
