Fawn felt Angela adjust her grip, knowing it was because her hands were sweating from anxiety. "S-Sorry," she whispered, eyes darting around, positive that, despite how quiet she was being, she had somehow just attracted the attention of everyone in a five-block radius.
"For what, sweetie?" Angela chuckled, not at all sharing Fawn's fears of walking through her own neighborhood, guiding a grown woman dressed as a toddler. "Fawn... Did you use your diapies already?"
"No!" Fawn squealed, face turning bright red. It was odd enough, hearing anyone else talk about her diapers - or simply having diapers she could call her own, for that matter - but, again, having it happen out in the open like this was almost too much for her.
Angela smiled, stopped, which only gave bystanders more of a chance to see what was happening... If there were any of them around to do so. "Are you sure?" she teased. "Maybe I should check you..."
"No!" Fawn shook her head desperately. "Please, don't!"
"All right, all right," Angela started to walk again. "I'm going to have to do it eventually, though, Fawn, so you might want to get ready."
Fawn could already feel her stomach knotting up at that possibility... And she could feel something else, too, a growing warmth between her legs. The thought of someone, anyone, else seeing her this way was horrifying; the idea that she was such a baby that Angela wouldn't think twice about checking her diaper in public, like she would with any actual child, was hitting a lot of buttons for her.
It was a pretty nice neighborhood, and, any other time, Fawn might have enjoyed the walk, taking her time to gawk at all the big, fancy houses... For now, she kept her eyes on the ground in front of her, unless her diaper made a particularly big crinkle, or Angela said something. If she had a reason to think that a passer-by could suspect the truth, she'd quickly look for one, letting out a sigh of relief when, inevitably, she saw that they were alone, for the most part. There were a few other people in the distance now and then, usually joggers running on the sidewalk on the other side of the road, but that was about the worst of it.
She was beginning to calm down, to appreciate being out in the fresh air, when Angela turned off of the sidewalk, leading her into a small park. Fawn saw the signs, and, deep down, she knew where they were going, although she couldn't make herself accept it until they were there. Every time they came across a sign, and Angela followed it towards the destination Fawn assumed - and feared - it would be, the smaller woman gulped, and squirmed, and hoped she was wrong.
"Here we go!" Angela declared when they arrived, finally letting go of Fawn's hand. "Isn't it nice?" It was, whether Fawn could say it out loud or not. She took it all in, eyes wide, not knowing what to do first. "Go on," Angela urged, pushing her forward with a swat to the girl's poofy backside. "Have fun, sweetie!"
Fawn took a tentative step forward, towards the playground laid out in front of her. All the equipment looked bright, and shiny, and new, and she wanted nothing more than to run to each piece in turn and use it. Her hand tugged at the hem of her dress, however, reminding her of how easy it would be for her to show off the diaper underneath if she did that... And this was a place for actual kids! Not to mention their caretakers, who surely would recognize the padding from a mile away.
"B-But..." she stammered. "Wh-What if...?"
"Fawn," Angela knelt down in front of her, Fawn blushing to see what she had to do to get onto her level, "you told me you trust me... Now, it's time for you to prove it."
She had said that, and she'd meant it... What did she really know about Angela, though? Why did she think she could trust her? Because she'd fulfilled one of Fawn's longest standing, deepest fantasies? That didn't mean Fawn could depend on her to keep her secret safe! She was already here, however... And she did desperately want to do as she was told...
"Y-Yes, ma'am," Fawn nodded, toddling forward, the diaper feeling so much thicker, and bulkier, now that she was walking on her own, without Angela there to hold her hand. For what had seemed like not that large of a park, the playground was quite expansive, with many choices laid out in front of her. Where should she start? She loved swings, but it would be easy for her skirt to fly up on that... And she could go to the playground by her college whenever she wanted, and her friends wouldn't think it was that strange for her to do that.
The same with the slide, really, on both counts. It might draw a bit more attention from her friends, although she'd seen them do it, so she knew they couldn't judge her too harshly. Part of her wanted to just plop into the sandbox, which she definitely wouldn't do back home, but she didn't have any shovels or pails, or anything to play with while she was in there... And, besides, she spotted the spring riders.
There were a small smattering of them in the playground back home, but she'd always been too embarrassed to even consider getting on one. Those were for really little kids... Which was exactly why she usually found herself staring at them, wishing she could straddle them, bounce around carelessly... Sydney had even noticed, asked her if she wanted to go for a ride.
Part of Fawn had been disappointed that she didn't have the courage to say yes. Syd had sounded like she was joking, though it was hard to tell with her sometimes. "I-I don't want to break them," had been her excuse.
She didn't want to break these, either, of course, but she suspected that wasn't actually an issue, that they'd be able to support her weight without too much of a problem. Just in case, she chose one of the biggest ones, a large, purple dinosaur, grinning at her as she waddled towards it. Her hands were shaking again as she reached out for the handle built into its neck, this time from excitement more than fear, swinging her leg over the saddle.
Almost instantly, it bucked forward, and she worried that she'd broken it after all. Before she could hop off, however, it swung back, making her squeal as she hung on to the handle, thighs tightening around the hard plastic between them as she tried to maintain her balance, giggling as it bobbed back and forth. It was silly, and simple, and childish... But it was also exactly what she'd imagined, what she'd remembered faintly from her childhood...
"Such a brave girl," Angela called from the sidelines, watching proudly. "Look at you, taming that wild dinosaur!"
Fawn knew she was teasing her, but she didn't mind. She nodded, riding it a little longer before hopping off, transferring over to a cute bumblebee. It was smaller, and a bit harder to stay on thanks to its rounder shape, and the slick plastic of her diaper slipping on the harder plastic of the toy, which just made it more fun.
Once she'd done that, and loosened up a little, she went wild, running around and crawling through tunnels, going down the slide, swinging, forgetting all about her fears of being seen, simply letting go and enjoying herself, like she would have if she had been brought here as a real toddler, not a college girl dressed up as one. She was sure her friends would make fun of her if they saw her doing this, that even Syd would mock her... But they were far away, along with everyone else she knew.
It said a lot for her headspace that, when Angela walked over to her while she was getting ready to scramble up the ladder to the slide again, she whined out loud, "No, I don't need a change!" with no regard for the fact she was out in public.
"We'll see about that," Angela smirked. "But I'm afraid it's time to go."
"What?" Fawn pouted. "Nooo!" She stomped her foot, forgetting all about how reluctant she'd been, at first, to come here.
"Fawn," Angela raised an eyebrow, her tone instantly making her client feel even smaller, younger. "You've been playing for a while now... It's time to rest."
"I'm not tired!" Fawn insisted, but Angela took her hand anyway, leading her away from the slide, stomping and sulking... Until she saw, in the distance, a woman approaching the playground, pushing a stroller. She gasped, sliding closer to Angela's leg, realizing the reason the woman had made her stop.
"It's getting to be that time," Angela explained with a patient smile. "It isn't too busy in the morning, on weekdays, but eventually, other people start showing up..."
If it hadn't been for her, Fawn would have been oblivious, would have kept playing, probably until it was too late. Angela could have let that happen, could have let her humiliate herself unknowingly, but thankfully, she hadn't done that. "Th-Thank you," she blushed.
"Of course," Angela laughed it off like it was nothing. "It's getting close to lunchtime, anyway... And, besides, I'm not so sure I trust you about that diaper of yours."
"H-Hey!" Fawn squeaked, feeling Angela's hand reach under her skirt, probe at her diaper. She looked around, but, just like earlier that morning, there was nobody there.
"You were telling the truth," Angela marveled. "That's almost more worrying... I hope you aren't dehydrated, sweetie. Or are you just nervous? Either way, we'll take care of that in a minute."
Fawn gulped, wondering what she was talking about, what she had planned, noticing for the first time that what she had assumed was simply a diaper bag over Angela's shoulder was probably a good bit bigger than it would need to be if it was that, and that they weren't heading out of the park, but further in... "A-Are we going on a picnic?"
"Very good!" Angela praised her. "Such a smart little girl... Does that sound like fun?"
Fawn tugged nervously at the hem of her dress, but it would have been lying to do anything other than nod. A picnic, out in this beautiful park, in her diapers, did sound like a lot of fun... And, if nothing else, Angela had just proven to her that she wasn't going to expose her - or let her expose herself - unnecessarily. "Yeah," she admitted bashfully. "Y-Yeah, it really does..."
