Hello internet citizens! You may recall the tumultous times of this year's early months where Patreon made us change around our entire billing system and consequently rework all our tiers, since the change from per-video to per-month meant every tier needed to be multiplied by a factor of 2 to 5 in order to stay level. After three months of delay, they finally switched us over (yay!) but then we learned that two of our tiers, the $5 and $25, would be billed incorrectly the following month, because we had to manually adjust those tiers from what Patreon had automatically set them to - $2 and $20 respectively. Patreon assured us that in 30 days the change would actually happen for real and everyone would be billed properly, but for April we'd just have to deal with our earnings being cut down to approximately 60%. Fun! Cool! Working As Intended!
Anyway, we told you guys about it, and passed along what Patreon told us about your bills locking into their new real tier level in May.
It's May first! Everyone has been billed today! Everyone in the $5 and $25 tiers who did not join in the last month or so has been billed wrong! Again! Because it has been more than 30 days and Patreon's feature did not work the way it was supposed to!! Hooray!!!
We're gonna have a talk with Patreon about this hopefully in the next few days, and ideally this will be the last time any of us need to think about any of this. But we told you you'd be billed normally this month, and then you weren't, and that felt like it needed an explanation. If you've got a burning desire to help out while we wait in Patreon Tech Support Limbo, you can also manually adjust your pledge to the correct level!
