Hi everyone!
I would like to ask you for your thoughts and ideas regarding my maps, and the patreon page in general. I also have one specific question that I would like your feedback on at the end.
Please share your thoughts below in the comments:
General things such as (just listing some ideas):
- How is the general quality of the maps, how do you think I could improve?
- Are the maps readable, or too cluttered with debris and details that are distracting?
- How is the scale of the maps, too big, too small, what about the grid?
- Any particular style of map you would like to see more of?
- Do you feel the pricing and rewards are fair? Are you getting what you expected?
- How do yo you like the content uploads, the upload schedule and my communication style?
Specific topic I would love to hear your feedback on:
Currently I make 8 different variants per map pack, and often find myself struggling to come up with ideas to reach the promised number of variants. On top of that, the editing for specifically the animated versions of all variants combined takes up a considerable amount of time, and at the moment each map pack has a minimum of 118+ files each week.
I'm thinking of the idea to slim down the number of variants from 8 to 5-6 total (on the Cartographer tier), but of course we would need something worthy to take its place. Naturally, with less variants, I will also spend more time per variant and increase the general quality and uniqueness of each version.
One idea of mine was to include a poll to vote on maps for the usual rotations, for the tiers of Scientist and Cartographer. I already sometimes make polls, but they are only for bonus maps when I have some extra time, and they are for all patrons. This type of new poll could be a benefit specifically for patrons of the Scientist tier and above, and would be a voting poll on maps that will be in the usual monthly map release. This way you would have more control over the type of content you like to see, and an extra platform to give me your ideas.
Would you like this idea, or do you have other awesome suggestions for potential rewards?
