Subway Station (27x48)

High time I made a Subway themed map!
This map has been requested a couple of times, so here it finally is!

I had another idea of a fully laid out station, perhaps even with some parts of the train tunnel available to talk in, but as I started to block it out, I realized that was a bit too much in scope for now... I'll come back to the idea eventually!

Subway stations, especially dilapidated or abandoned ones, are very high in my list of favorite themes to look at when looking at concept art. Admiring concept art is probably my top hobby, next to creating maps.

Something about a high functioning area, that is either still in use but not that well maintained, or one that has been completely abandoned years ago, is so intriguing. I think it is because the high density of different materials that allow for so much freedom when creating an idea. You have shiny tiles on the ground or walls, but they are of course a bit matte or dull now, some of them are perhaps cracked, broken off, or completely missing. Then comes the steel, metal, plastic, and everything together it just looks so good to me when I look at art online for inspiration.
