For context - after Mitch’s adopted dad past mitch had three years of a downhill spiral. He fell in with Brody the guy seen sitting next to mitch.

Brody is a pit bull who twisted and manipulated him at a time when he couldn’t take it. Mitch fell into Brody’s trap, doing drug and drinking.

after a night of hard partying Brody convinces mitch that he is sober enough to drive. Brody takes Mitch’s keys and they start driving. as you can imagine this is “ the accident “ that ended with them getting in a fatal car accident. Well fatal for Brody.

Brody didn’t make it but mitch did by a land slide. He suffered a head injury and severe internal bleeding. He was in a medically induced coma for a month. But just like that, with this accident his whole life changed. When he woke up he wasn’t alone. That’s where he met Kaia.
