Random ramblings before the next update

I kind of want to do more rambling posts. I suppose casual ramblings are better than no updates, right? I have been working pretty hard on the next update lately. I am pretty certain about the direction I want to take this game by now, and I'm very excited to start taking it there. 

I have made some changes to the way businesses work. The initial alpha framework was working nicely, but it was dull. I could pump out 20 businesses in a day, but they were all carbon copies of each other. That is gone. It was simply too impersonal. I want each business to be unique, even if it requires a lot more work. The way things were working just wasn't fun and it had nothing to do with celebrities. And most of you are here for fun and celebrities, right? Not business management.

This means businesses from now on will all be run by celebrities and have their own unique introductions, stories, 'missions', requirements for buying and very important: a usecase. For example, I coded gas simulation so the gas station now has an actual use. You'll have to fill up your tank every now and then (actually depending on how much you drive). This way you can encounter the random events at the gas station in a natural way instead of clicking through useless businesses just hoping for some RNG luck. 

This is the first step in a much grander picture I recently formed in my mind of where I want to take this project. I want to make this game something very dynamic where every in-game day is as unique as it can be with lots of fun things to do, all centered around the girls in the game. I want to avoid players just clicking through the same 5 actions for 100 days just to lever the one stat they need to get to the next girl. It has to feel fun and dynamic and somewhat real, not like a grind.

As for the businesses, don't expect it all in the next update. I actually removed some things to make them ready for this change. The diner is gone until I've added food mechanics and you can't buy things like the barber anymore. This means businesses will be added slower but they will be way more fun. This update will show a fraction of that, but it will be truly fleshed out in the next.

I will stop for now or I will ramble on for days. I just hope my excitement shows, because I really am extremely excited about all this. I'll release the update very soon so you can all play around in the new gym and see some of the small new features and scenes I added and I'll probably get to work on a very large 0.2 update after that.
