Okay, maybe I slightly underestimated the amount of work that goes into this game :) It's alright though, we're slowly inching closer to a playable alpha. Today I made a working mechanic for assigning campers tasks. 

These are the non-celebrity campers. Celebrities can be assigned tasks as well and will have more impact as they all have stats. Regular campers can be assigned one of four tasks (right now, might expand someday): defense, food, medic and scavenging.

Defense: will decrease the chance of a camp attack
Food: Will produce a semi-random amount of food each day
Medic: Will decide how quickly you and others recover
Scavenging: Will produce a semi-random amount of loot each day

There will be a maximum number of campers so you'll have to make decisions. The camp can be upgraded to house more campers but that also increases the chance of an attack. You can find campers while exploring the world, or they can find you through random events.

Not sure what I'm going to be doing with the male/female camper stat but I felt like it was easy enough to implement and it might come in handy someday for sexy stuff! :D


More good news: some stuff changed in my personal life and I will have more time to spend on the game for a while, hopefully speedig up development! I can't really put a time on a first playable alpha right now as I don't want to disappoint. Just know I'm going as fast as I can! :) I'm just doing things right from the start in the backend as well, meaning it takes a lot more time up front but will be way more future-proof.
