After the events of last night, the empress asks for the listener's presence in her royal court. This has never happened before. She takes the listener to a hidden chamber in the palace and they share a sweet moment together, before the reality of their situation and the echoes of war in the distance sink in once again. The consort of an apophis is entitled to many gifts and luxuries, but free will isn't one of them.
