Hey everyone.
This post is a music video that I made for my song “Platforms” in 2015.
Back in 2015, when Obama was still trying to achieve the “drawdown” - pulling the US troops out of Afghanistan and handing back power, I saw a documentary called “Bitter Lake” by the director Adam Curtis. His film told the story of how the U.S.A.’s relationship with Afghanistan began, and how the whole mess started in the first place.

I contacted Adam, told him how much I enjoyed the film, told him what I wanted to do and he sent me leftover footage.
Around that time, I’d been commissioned by a new “Platform” to make a piece of art, for them to host on their front page. So I edited this footage to my song, and sent them the finished video.
Then they phoned me to say that they rejected it. Didn’t want it. Too controversial, “we don’t know what these people stand for, or who they support. We can’t put our name to this”
I said “it doesn’t matter, it’s just a depiction of the world we live in today. it’s just looking out the window on an average day for these people. I’m not taking sides, or endorsing or condemning anything. It’s just a mirror.”
Still no. Still rejected. So, here it is. 5 years late.
I want to use this Patreon platform to make work, and help other people make work that can just be put out there, express, with no strings, no asking permission, no fear.
