Oneshots, Illustrations and Artists

Hello!

Let's talk about oneshot ASMRs. By the way, oneshot means the ASMR roleplay is written for only one audio/episode/video, instead of multiple. 

You may have noticed that the Kafka oneshot ASMR doesn't use a commissioned piece. I'm trying out a new way of making content to spice things up!

I'll continue making story series, but in between, there will be a oneshot or a collection/compilation to break the monotony.

As some of you may already know, in the ASMR Roleplay scene in Youtube, vast majority of ASMRtists do NOT ask for permission from the illustrator, and often the excuse given is "fair use". This is not right! Permission must always be asked of from the artist, unless the artist expressly states so in their profile (some artists say it's ok to use as profile picture, but not commercially or for broadcast).

As a voiceover artist myself, I wish to respect their rights, and I regret doing it the wrong way in the past, telling myself "everyone else does it, I'll do it too. But I'll credit the artist, that makes me better than the others!" while it is true that crediting the artist is oftentimes not done in the scene, it still doesn't make it right that I didn't reach out to the artist!

That being said, you can expect to see future oneshots with existing illustrations, of course with permission from the artist! This week features "Kafka" from Honkai Star Rail, illustration made by Clouble! They gave me their response quickly and I highly appreciate them for that! They don't take any requests or commissions at the moment, but they're an active artist and I recommend you follow them, too~! It won't be the last time I'm using their art for our ASMRs! 

I've reached out to other artists as well: Qingwu, whose art was featured in the Golden Hind ASMR (they drew the BEST Golden Hind fanart, hands down) and Sushispin, who gave me blanket permission for their works (yes that means I can use any of their art for the roleplay audios!)!! 

I am very excited to create these oneshots for you and show you artworks I personally love, please look forward to more in the future! 💜
