Its May 18: video from early may, testing the new Alpines
When creating new terrain types, i test those on seperate worlds, before implementing them in my world systems. My Worldmachine setup is beyond 1.5k nodes big.. probably 2k+ and creates a lot of friction when trying to develope new stuff.
Interesstingly seeing this video, i find that the gen3 Alpines might work pretty well without coreland limitation as standalone islands. hmmmmm.
#----------
Alpines Gen 2
Was built for big mountain ranges.
Sharp, smooth peaks, sutle terracing, continued peaklines, huge bulging bottom terraces
Alpines Gen 3
Iteration on gen 2
Better/More "single" peaks, dynamic shattering, warped erosion, increased terrain fragmentation, better global terracing, varying terracing, steeper valleys, bigger bottom, with sloping channels in a stylistic approach.
