I was concerned for a moment, whether Dom Perignon offers a red wine in their collection - and indeed they do reds. The price starts at $185 and with aging may reach over $85 000.
Can you belive that shit ? I once watched a culinary show, where they presented a French winery , which stored wines since 1800s in their storages. They survived the WW2, and the owner had to seal the entrance to the cellar every time they make a production - as you can guess a small one, since the occupying forces were patroling around and if they notice the winery (which by the way was positioned inside the house, and from a door was leading down stairs to the cellar itself), thy probably would confiscate all they had. The house was build on a rock, and below they carved , or it has been carved by the nature enough space for people to store stuff. Anyways - now this winery has been turned into a luxury restaurant, where they serve mostly wine, but you can also eat something. For example they offered lightly roasted foie gras in sauce. The sauce was made from the pressed head of the goose itself - which made the bllod to come out.The blood was mixed with 1980 cognac, herbs and all thes were lightly flambéed. This whole combination foie gras in sauce , was served to the customer along with a glass of wine from 1972, worth 15,000 euros/glass alone and the bottle itself was over 50,000euros.
This means that there are actually people who can afford drinking a glass of wine at the price of a yearly sallary or even times exciting such.
As for the rest of us - if we eat and drink that one without knowing the price /and lets say someone would tell us: it's fine, eat and drink, you don't pay/ - some of us probably will say - eh,is okay... or " I hate this"... but at the end after we hear out the price - we will be afraid to fart... because it's so expensive we can't afford to let this go out so fast from our system.
