Tori Amos Gloves

While my dress is in DW's hands, I'm working on the other parts of my costume. I'm doing a lot of hand choreography so I wanted SUPER fancy gloves. I think these need a bit more rhinestoneing but I like how they're looking so far.
I made the big jewel (video of that will be forthcoming for the $5 patrons) and the fabric around it is just a super fancy fabric scrap that I've been unwilling to throw away.
It's been really great to create a costume that doesn't have to look like something someone else already designed. And stitching down the fabric bit was a great exercise in embracing chaos. I had limited control over how it would stitch down and no clear idea of what I wanted it to do anyway so I kinda just had to let things happen. It was a little scary but also really gratifying. And I love how it looks.
I think I need to be more comfortable with chaos in my work. It's going to come anyway, I should make the best of it.
