This is a resource for cc creators looking for Maxis-Match-style plaids for their textures. This is not CC!

I love plaids. I love plaids very much. But looking for plaid resources online can be tricky because of copyright/crediting rules, and personally, I think that a lot of plaids online don't fit the Maxis-Match aesthetic. Real-world plaid patterns are beautiful, but they can look too busy when plopped into the game, and often the the pattern needs to be resized for clothes, which results in a loss of quality.

So I made this gigantic customizable plaid resource to match TS4's style and texture scale. And I made options, for however much you want to roll up your sleeves and get into pattern-making.

Level - Easy

MadameRia Plaid Pattterns

262 Pre-made plaid patterns as 2048x2048 pngs, all ready for you to download and plop into your image editor to use as you'd like. Some examples of the patterns can be seen in the main image of this post, and they come in the color palette below.

Level - Intermediate

MadameRia Customizable Plaid Patterns-ALL-[2048x2048]

Comes in both GIMP format (xcf) and Photoshop format (psd).

An image file with layer groups for each pattern style (there are 8 different plaid styles and each of these are modular, so you can choose how busy/simple you want a pattern to be) with a customizable background color. Everything is already tiled to a 2048x2048 canvas.

Level - Hard

MadameRia Customizable Plaid Patterns Untiled

Comes in both GIMP format (xcf) and Photoshop format (psd).

A zipped folder of each individual pattern in its original, untiled dimensions. This is for people that want to customize these patterns even more. Maybe you want to add even more lines to the patterns? Maybe you want to experiment with placement of the lines before tiling them? The world is your plaid-making oyster!

If you use any of this in your CC, please credit me and tag me on tumblr! I made these for myself, but I hope they help anyone else looking for license-free patterns!

I know this might be a big, complicated resource, and while I tried to explain everything in a concise manner, please let me know if you have any questions!
