I *really* really enjoyed the "mannequin" animation workflow last time, so I could always see my animation with a full framerate. For those new or didn't see it before, I animate with generated "mannequins" that are the same shapes as the character but the body parts don't connect and squish. It removes a massive CPU burden.
Though unfortunately, this means I'm not using the character models themselves when I'm blocking out and animating, so I am unsure about the way to do storyboards from here on out.
Maybe I can try blocking the animation with mannequins, duplicating as a separate file, then subbing the real characters in just to render some shots.
We'll see!
